Rose Tyler's Gun (Doctor Who) help?

I'm planning on cosplaying as Rose from season 4 of Doctor Who, however I am so confused on how to make this gun;

I have no idea what materials to use, I've tried searching for tutorials but have sadly found nothing.

Any help would be fantastic

That is a pretty big and awesome gun hahah.
Anyways...Hmmm..Are you good with wood? if not you could go the cardboard, foam core, paper mache, or foam way.
Depends on what you're comfy with.

Well i've never actually made anything like this before but i know my dad is rather good at building things with wood, however we are soon to be moving so i expect anything but wood would be best. What is the strongest material do you suggest?

Well I think the strongest would actually be wood. I know you could either make it from cardboard and then paper mache it for a nice hard touch, or you could Bondo it too.

Thank you I've actually found a huge strong cardboard box in my classroom that was in the bin, so i managed to take that home. If its not good enough oh well becuase i didn't spend anything on it ^^ paper mache over the top seems like a good idea! thanks again
