Composition Critique and Comments
Hi all.
I'm currently posting this from my iPhone so am unable to upload the photos directly. They are however on my dA - anghel132.deviantart.com (sorry if linking is not allowed. I will remedy when I get home) I would like your comments on anything and everything but mostly composition and colour. I comp skills fail hard IMHO so any advice will be taken and taken seriously. Also suggestions on shooting techniques or equipment or configurations in differnt locations visible in the photos would be greatly appreciated! |

Linking is certainly allowed! ^_^
Why don't you pick specific photos you'd like critiqued, and then we can get started? It's easier to do that then look over entire galleries. |

Hi hi
![]() Thanks for that. I've only got a few photos anyway, but I've uploaded them to here. I have five that I've taken from Supanova Brisbane 2010 in my gallery here -> http://www.cosplay.com/member/215163/ If you'd be so kind as to critique those ones? |

Sure.
These are all interesting shots. They're bright and colorful, so you're off to a good start! Photo 1 - Good idea, but needs some tweaking. Putting your subject so close to the bottom makes it feel like she's about to slide out of the photo! Photo 2 - A better-framed shot than the first. Why did you choose that soft focus? Was it post-processing? Photo 3 - Those funky headpieces are fun to shoot, aren't they? ^_^ Watch your background. There's quite a but of clutter. Your narrow depth of field helps, but I would suggest moving your subjects to a less crowded area. Even a simple blank wall could do! Photo 4 - Cute shot. Again, keep an eye on the backgrounds! Photo 5 - I like that you're trying an off-center portrait. Not quite as engaging as your others, though. Thanks for sharing the photos! Good luck! |
