Steam-punk Ballroom dress?
So at A-Kon this year I was very excited to find out that we have a masquerade as well as a steampunk ball! I raided my closet for possible costume to wear and came across my "Burlesque Babe" costume from last year.
http://www.buycostumes.com/Burlesque...uctDetail.aspx Does anybody have any advice on quick ways to transform this costume to something appropriate of a steam-punk Ball-Dress? (I already have a few steam-punk accessories, pocket-watch etc,) I was thinking about removing the top part completely and keeping the bottom as a skirt, adding a long black (perhaps puffy) skirt underneath it, and finding a corset of some sort for the top. But that dosen't seem to be enough... because one of their rules says " A wrap or shawl always adds to the appearance of a dress without shoulders." so I'm assuming I need my shoulders covered? |

You could wear a shirt underneath the corset like the girl in front, just make the skirt more frilly. You could wear a mini shrug, as I call it, over the corset as well. Either of those would look really nice.

^ what Narnian said, and I'd also add a pair of boots, something like these.
And definitely add the skirt underneath the overskirt. It'll look just right that way ![]()

add a cute shirt under it and make a simple skirt for under the current skirt and I think you would be golden
