I want to make a Togetic gijinka but because there isn't like, "official art" for gijinkas I have to take a lot of artistic liberties and style my own stuff. I just kind of wanted to run over what I'm considering for my costume and ask if it's okay and if you guys have any advice on it.
Despite not liking the art, I love what this artist has done in terms of the outfit here.
I plan on just buying a plain white blouse, making a plain skirt and then stamping/stenciling on the triangles (I helped a friend with a very, very similar technique less than a week ago).
I haven't started looking for shoes yet but I'm considering something white and cute with a small heel. Although I'd probably try to find a cheaper alternative at a local store, the design I'm looking for is similar to Cosworx's schoolgirl-50 shoe.
Is this a good idea? I love this shoe.
I decided to go a bit more all-out on the wings since I'm much more interested in creating things like that than sewing etc. I found several good tutorials, my favourite being wings that will end up looking like this
made with real feathers.
For a wig I'm considering Forever Young's Paper Doll wig
in 613, the colour shown in the picture. Unfortunately, they do not carry a more "white" colour in that wig. Because the colour white is such a critical component of Togetic's design, should I opt for a different wig in a more white colour or will that be light enough?
Now comes the hard part, though. Togetic has spikes on top of its head and I have several options for how to go about it:
a) Make some sort of crown/headband with feathers to match the wings and use that for the spikes
b) Style my wig similar to how fool of Leuda did his
c) Ignore the spikes all together.
My main questions are:
a) Real wings -- good idea or bad idea?
b) Will the wig be white enough? I fucking love that wig. I'd wear it out all the time.
c) WTF AM I GOING TO DO ABOUT SPIKES :|
Any input at all is veeeeery appreciated.
