Bleach: Baraggan's Axe

I'll be cosplaying as baraggan soon and made up some sketches as a reference for his axe/accessories soon. Now that they've shown him more in-depth in the anime though, his character is starting to look significantly different. Specifically, his axe has a completely different look to it. I prefer the way it looks in the manga more, but I was wondering which one would be better to stick to.

Anime:
Original
My sketch

Manga:
Original
My Sketch

Obviously I'm pretty bad at drawing, but those were just to get a rough bearing on what I have to do. Anybody, pereference?

It would be nice to see an ax that big and
for you to carry it around.
I'd say the Manga.

Honestly, I think the only thing that's really changed between the anime and manga is that the handle is a little thinner and the axe head itself is a little smaller/has half-circles cut out of it in the manga. The fact that one side is a bit larger than the other is also a bit more pronounced in the manga, but I didn't even notice until I looked at your two references for a little bit.

Both are technically canon, though the manga is the ultimate go-to for source. So in the end, you can do either one and be correct.

- 3- the manga one is cooler, though. Just my two cents.

I didn't cost much in case your on a budget

the manga and the anime don't change that much, but I would say the manga
you would probably have to make it detachable too

Thanks for all of the replies. I think I'll go with the manga version after all since it does look a bit more formidable.

I thought about making it detachable, but I'll be traveling there in a van to transport my groups props and swag, so I should have plenty of space. That, and it seems like a bit of a pain to make it attach securely without threading two ends or fortifying some broomstick.

I got my insulation foam to make it now, but it seems that the only way to use it would be to:
A) make the two blades separate and hope to god that it doesn't split apart
B) make the entire Axe head smaller

I'm going to Lowes tomorrow to see if they have anything wider, but I wanted to put this up just in case. How well together could liquid nails hold it together at such a small point?

Just as an extra bit of info, I'm trying to follow this tutorial as I can't seem to find one for a huge axe.
