so im working on a blue spirit from avatar out fit and im trying to make the mask but the first time it faild ive made a couple other anbu mask before but those were more simpler anyone got any ideas on how to make it also were to get or how to make his swords

Hello! I can't help about the mask, but Zuko uses twin broadswords (dao) that are used in wushu martial arts. You can buy bamboo versions of them that are painted silver at this website where I buy my wushu stuff ^^ I bought the straightsword version for a cosplay once since my real metal one isn't allowed, haha. It's really lightweight and looks good.

I can't remember if Zuko's dao have flags on them (the bit of cloth on the bottom), but you can easily take them off.

You know what might work? Plaster strips. If you're okay with not talking for a while as it dries on your face, you can form it exactly to fit. You can also sand it and add more plaster for details. You can find it in Michael's near the Sculpey. It's under the name Rigid Wrap.

Just apply Vaseline all over your face, especially well to your hair line, eyebrows and any other facial hair and start laying the strips evenly on your face. Check out this tutorial. It's very easy to use and dries quickly.

I purchased the mask for a Blue Spirit costume I recently made from My Wicked Armor. They are very professional, polite, and make a great product.

The swords were purchased from BuyKungfu.com. What I like about these is that they come with a case, and are flat on the inside part of the hilt, just like Zuko's. Keep in mind that these particular ones are metal (although the edge is quite dull) and may not pass security, depending on what con you're at. At Dragon*Con, we had them peace-bonded except for when we took some photos in a very non-crowded, open area.

When me and a friend started making the Blue Spirit mask, we choose a large plastic mask base from Hobby Lobby and then cut the chin to get more of the correct shape. To make the raised parts of the mask (eyes, nose, mouth) we used a pack of Paperclay. We used foamy sheets for the white ear/hair parts.
All in all, it cost about 10 dollars and was super light weight and looked pretty awesome.

I've been looking into the swords; you can find some wooden Dao swords on Ebay for 20 each or so. Only downside: they're pretty heavy.
