Drocell Cainz Jacket - make from already made patterns?

I hope I'm in the right place for asking this...
I'm thinking of doing a Drocell cosplay from Kuroshitsuji, and I have a really good idea on how to make everything except the jacket. My only idea, is if I take a pattern of a jacket with a tailcoat and combine it with a pattern for a collar that looks like Drocell's. Will that work like I hope think it will?

Reference: http://gallery.minitokyo.net/view/391592

And I know this isn't a question to be asked here, but I don't wanna post a separate topic just for a small question. Any ideas on how to make his music box, but not out of wood or cardboard? Cardboard is to crappy and I might be able to go with wood, but it's still a bit too hard for me, so if there's any other ways that are easy and look good than I'd like to know them.

There's a picture of the box in the reference pic, just so you know

Thanks for anyone who replies!
