So I originally ordered from Cosplay Magic. I 1st ordered Vampire princess miyu, supposed to be white and came baby blue.
Too much of a color lapse for me. Sent it back and got Meilin from cardcaptors. Supposed to be red and came pale pink.
I do give them credit in that their customer service is good, and the shipping is FAST. I'm taking a week for the 1st outfit from China, and the exchange was sent to me over night.
But I am freaking out about the color and to change it there would be so much work involved (cutting things out, dying or using different fabric, and sewing back on, which none of which I can do myself!)
I can get my money back from Cosplay Magic to get this costume from Cosplay House, it looks like it's pretty true to color.
The outfit from Cosplay Magic did look kind of like a faded red, but still red and not pink.
Cosplay House did explain to me that it take a little longer for their costumes to get their because they are made upon ordering, even the standard sizes and they reccomend getting a custom size which costs no extra.
They say the colors aren't always exact and for example if they only had an Off White at the time and the outfit was white, that is what they would use. But they said there shouldnt be a problem because of how simple the colors are.
But idk, pink and red are a pretty big deal to me and this is my first cosplay as an actual character and seeing as I CANNOT get my money back from Cosplay House if this ends badly, I want it to work!! Not to mention it takes a little while for it to get here.
What do you think guys, here is the outfit:
My measurements are 36(But I can fit into 34 too)-28-36, if it's a little big I can get it tailored for free. By their standards It looks like I'd fit the medium with maybe a little bit of a space. Should I just do the standard size, or custom? I have not heard the best things about custom sizes and it tends to take longer.
Opinions...Should I do it?
I don't know if I feel comfortable getting comission from a cosplayer, I don't want to send money over the internet to a person and not a company, and the only way I would do it would be someone in my area where I could check up on them etc, Dallas, TX.
What do you guys think, are the cosplay house reviews really as bad as people say? I was reading some people were really happy with their outfits and while they were hesitant with ordering due to a ton of bad reviews, their outfits were beautiful.
It just makes me sad, the outfit from Cosplay Magic IS gorgeous, I mean really the quality is simply beautiful. Buut it is pink and to change it to red it would be at least $80-120 on top of what I already paid, I can't afford it. If I send it back, I will be getting my money back to use on another cosplay. BUT I need to know if they are reliable, if the Cosplay House Meilin outfit looks like it'd work!!
