Major Wings?

I'm making a Spirit Healer from World Of Warcraft cosplay once I get skinner than what I am now.
But I need help on make her giant wings, or at least some tips on it.

It really depends on a few things. Do you intend for them to be able to open/close or will they just be static? Do you want them to be pliable or rigid?

It'd be nice to fold them to be able to get into doors and to pack them.
Pliable or rigid?

Let me clarify, do you want those long feathers to be able to move/bend/flex or do you want them to be a solid unit that won't budge if they are hit or bumped into.

No clue. I'd maybe say be able to move if they're in the wind.

With that in mind, I think making each feather out of Fabric and creating pockets along the sides of them for guide wires would work. My thought is that it would be almost like a tent, that is to say, a collapsible rigid frame and then a fabric covering that the rigid frame slides into to give it form. This would allow the feathers to blow in the breeze to a point, but also allow it to collapse during travel so as to not take up a lot of room. The fabric would also keep them light so as to not strain the back. Another plus of this method, that, if sewed right, the feathers could be washable, thus allowing them to stay white after multiple uses.
