Easy Legend of Zelda cosplay suggestions
Hey everyone! A friend and I are going to our first con together in August. I have an awesome Princess Zelda costume that I'm going to wear, and I really want my friend to dress up as well. However, he is in university and doesn't have access to a sewing machine. He loves Zelda as much as I do, but since he can't be a character that involves too much extra sewing, altering, etc., he it very limited. I will help out as much as I can, but does anyone have any suggestions? It doesn't necessarily have to be Link or Gannondorf, supporting characters are just as good.

I'm quite familiar with the Zelda games (Ocarina of Time, Majora's Mask and Twilight Princess specifically).
Since your friend is male and wants a relatively "easy" cosplay, aside from Link (in his various tunics or the Ordon outfit) I would suggest... Skull Kid: Wonderful iconic villain or playful forest spirit. May require some sewing but is not too detailed (aside from the mask). I even at one time planned to make him myself, lol. Ghost Hunter/Poe Merchant: A minor character, but an interesting one who appears in most of the games. A purple hood/shawl, a black mask with the one red eye, a stick, white tunic and a belt with the triforce and other designs on it are all that is required. The Postman The Happy Mask Salesman Sheik: Though technically female, s/he is Zelda posing as a boy and could work well as a duo with you ( I have seen numerous male cosplayers as Sheik, so the gender conflict makes the character viable for both). The Ocarina of Time version could just be a painted/modified bodysuit with wrappings and the cloth draped over with the half-mask (little to no sewing required!) I'm working on the Brawl version at the moment- now that is complex! Other ideas I had were either minor characters or monsters, but those might not be recognizable. There should be some characters from the Gameboy titles or Windwaker that I am not familiar with you can look into as the "cartoony" style present in those games may work well for a simple cosplay. I think the best choices from my suggestions would be Link, Sheik, Skull Kid, or the Ghost Hunter/Poe Merchant. Good luck! |

I'm being Zelda from Twilight Princess. We don't necessarily have to match, I just think out of any costume, he would prefer one from any Zelda game.

aww I see
yes most of the TP characters are a bit detailed? lol though you could do Colin He would be pretty easy I think http://www.zeldadungeon.net/Zelda11-...cters.php#Rusl here is a good list also he could be a triforce? LOL and stand to your side for Pictures aha I always like the big triforces or yes something from Wind Waker because much less detail or Dampe from OOT/MM he cracks me up or a character I would love to see more of ERROR! from Zelda 2 LOL it is very easy costume and he can hold a sign that says "I am Error" that is always good for laughs =) anyways good luck!

Really simple Zelda cosplay? Depending on his build, could just do what I did.

If you want to do something similar, he could do a piece of heart or a magic bar.
