Thanks so much for the tutorial! I'm camera-shy which seriously kills me and I do the dead-hand pose too much! XD The only cosplay I found easy to pose for was my Yuko cosplay. I know her character VERY well and it's easy for me to emulate her, so I think how well you know the character's personality influences a lot too.
Katsucon 2014:

~Sakura Kinomoto from CCS

AUSA 2014:

~Blake Belladonna from RWBY (Combat and (maybe) Schoolgirl versions)

~Iris from Megaman X, MMZ version

Excellent tips, thank you!
The photographer I sometimes model for gave me the "rule of two": if you have two of something (legs, feet, hands, arms, etc), do something different with each one.
Like so:
I've got one hand in my pocket and one at my side, and only one foot off the ground.

I have learned a great deal from this tutorial - I just hope I can remember the advice next time I go to con.

I hate when someone points a camera at you and you go 'huh?' and they take the photo.
PAST CONVENTIONS: Fanime 09 (Outfit destroyed by blown radiator leaving con)
FUTURE CONVENTIONS: ACEN 11, Fanime 11, AX 11, Wizard World 11
Honey - Ouran High School Host Club (90%)
Mal Reynolds - Firefly / Serenity (10%)
Commander Shepard - Mass Effect (0%)
Spike - Cowboy Bebop (0%)

I remember when I wanted to cosplay my dream was to have many people ask for my photo. Then when I started cosplaying and then entered the con and then somebody asked for my photo I went "OH SHIT! I NEVER WORKED ON MY POSING" XDDD

So THANK YOU! I hope your tutorial helps me! *NOT PHOTOGENIC IS THE LEAST BIT*
