Give me an idea?
Well, I am going to be cosplaying Katara at Dragon*Con this year. And, I keep thinking to myself, "Self, I wonder what we could have as a prop for her character."
Yeah, normal poses are okay, and whatnot, I understand that. But, does anyone have any ideas of what cool thing I could do? Picture reverence! http://www.musogato.com/avatar/official/katara05.jpg <-- Her OMG, the picture I saw searching for that one. IT CANNOT BE UNSEEN!!! ![]()

hmm the poi sounds like a great idea! I'll have to consider this for my zuko cosplay...unless I decide to be the blue spirit...hmm

Those poi do look awesome, I didn't know they had them with the cloth attached to the end. Another thing you could do is make a water prop out of polyester resin. I did this for my Katara cosplay at Otakon. I made a mold out of homemade play-dough (though I'm investing in a tub of natural clay for next time, so that I can make it smoother), lined the dough with plastic wrap and poured the resin. Two days and a mirrored mold later (to make it rounded), I had a water whip! I used clear beading cord to hold it up. My favorite thing about this was that you didn't have to be in motion for it to work and look good, so I could hold a pose for awhile and not lose the effect.

I really do appreciate all of your ideas with this. I would -LOVE- a poi idea. Unfortunately, I do NOT think I will be getting it in time for DragonCon. Sadly.
I could attempt the resin thing. Though, I am not entirely sure at how I can do it though. But, I will try. Thank you guys once again for the help!
