I'm not participating because I'll be in school, so cosplaying would just make me look weird, not to mention that hats are against the dress code. I can't speak from experience, but cosplaying outside of a convention seems like it would feel extremely awkward.

the nail that shows the most get hit down the hardest after all.

and I won't be doing it. mainly becuase it's induction day for me

I've got a casual cosplay I'm thinking of wearing, thankfully people don't give you as many weird looks in college for dressing up compared to the rest of the world.

Halloween wearing your mom's dress and your dad's blazer says Hello.

Looking for a day where you can cosplay all day and not get any crap? there you go.

But you don't have to wait for such a thing. If you want to, just do. Hell, a group of friends and I cosplayed over the weekend because we felt like it. Got some killer pictures.

Do whatever you want, whenever you want. Just be smart about it.

Talking

Actually, it does sound like fun, but I don't cosplay out in public for the random of it anyway xD Besides, I think my art professors would give me the evil glare if I tried it. I have to look professional, whether in the art or the real world.

I have friends that loves anime, video games, and some of them cosplay, but I don't think they would participate in something like this. Then again, in the art profession, you never know what's around the corner

So cosplay is like a personal hobby being kept out of the professional aspect. I still love it and I'll share my interest in it, but nothing to the extreme of cosplaying outside of the anime world

Chances are I'll be at work, with a business-casual dress code....but if I'm off, why the heck not. I'll throw on a few pieces of my Aoi cosplay if it's not too stiflingly hot. I've been dying to wear the wig and tunic/tank top again.

If I'm not working, eh, why not. I'll go out for a photoshoot since Malik should be done by then.

As much as I love cosplay, I don't know how good going out in cosplay WITHOUT a reason would be for the cosplay community.

A lot of people give cosplayers a hardtime because of the people who randomly go into malls or walmart dressed in cat ears and a naruto headbands and tackle eachother to the ground and ride around on shopping carts. That's the prejudice most people have, and I've been kicked out of places because that is what a lot of people think cosplay is now.

I would just urge people to be on their best behavior. I'm not sure public cosplay is a great idea at all, but if you do it, dont make a fool out of yourself.

i fear naruto headbands and cat ears are being bunched up into emo rock because of how much hot topic has sucked in townies.

Urgh. Dx Private School does not let me wear such things as Cosplay during school.
...I could attempt to 'honor it', but I don't want to get in trouble at school.

So no, I probably won't be doing it. Dx Even though it sounds like so much fun.

This would be most successful if meet-ups were set up city by city, in my opinion; that way it wouldn't just be "in public" or at work. I'll be working as well that day, and while it makes me laugh to think of how my students would react, I don't think any of the other teachers will be cosplaying either. XD

Doesn't sound like such a good idea only cuz the general public still don't really know about it/don't accept it, so its one more thing to add onto the insults and the labels of being satan worshippers. BUT since that's every con experience, why not? XDDD I'd just wanna do it with friends, though I might have school that day, so I dunno how well that would go over.

I'd so be up for a cosplay flash dance though.
