Hi, (hope this is in the right place if not, please feel free to move it elsewhere!)

I need a pair of black and white vertical thick stripe socks but i can't seem to find any online and probably i won't have the time to order any now since i need them in less than 2 weeks. I've got a pair of white cotton socks and i tried painting stripes on them myself but failed. Once I stretch them and put them on, the lines become distorted and the edges not crisp. I am kinda being a tight-arse and didn't paint it with fabric paint but just normal paint. Would fabric paint make a difference? Just wondering if any of you have any tips on what I can do? Thanks in advance!
