Grell Sutcliff's Vest

Okay.
So I know where to find a simple pattern for a vest, but I want it to be stiff, like those fancy ones. What would I need to put under the fabric?? I'm getting the kind of fabric like the one in [ this ] picture. [ that's the clearest shot of the pattern ], so I'm not sure what kind of fabric is going to have that on it.

Also, if anyone has any tips for making a vest, that'd be fantastic. I'm popping my vest-making cherry.

Just found out it's actually called a waistcoat and what I'm looking for is interfacing, evidently. xD
Only took me 3 hours to figure that out. Lol. <3
