Cosplay Parade - You will need to sign up for the Parade. There will be a sign up sheet held at the Information Booth from when the doors open til 3pm. If you have not signed up by 3pm, you will not be able to participate in the Parade.

The sign-up sheet is just so we know how many people are participating. It also allows you to say who your character is, if you made your costume or had it commissioned, then you can give kudo's to the person who made it. If you just want a walk-on/pose or if you would like to interact with the Mcee.

So you get the glory of being up on stage with out the process of going through the judging process.

Because the competition is for costumes that have been made by the competitor, and can not be bought, the Cosplay Team came up with the idea of the Parade to allow those that have commissioned or bought their costumes to show them off on stage.

It's not really a new idea. America and Europe have been doing Cosplay parades for ages. It was never done in Australia because we don't have the number of cosplayers that America or Europe have, but now might be a good time to adopt their methods, as there are a bit more cosplayers.

Yep, you're right, it's not a new idea internationally, what I meant to say a little bit more clearly is that it is a new idea for Armageddon.

It's funny, both times we had it in NZ we had more people turn up than for the contest- I think double in both cases? It probably has to do with the nature of being able to sign up on the day (lots of people go to cons with costumes and aren't part of the cosplay scene and so don't know about the contests or meet ups etc. from online) and the informal nature of it (fewer rules about making etc.)

We basically just wanted as many people of as many skill levels/participation levels to have as many chances as possible to be on stage Over here there is a group who run cosplay games which is yet another chance If anyone wants to help run them in OZ please see Angela or I at the con. I'll be floating around on Saturday in costume (will leave a note at the info booth as I am not sure at this stage what I'll be- luggage and time allowances) and Ange will be at the info desk. I'll make sure to have a note book with me

I can't wait to meet some new people and chat with people I met at Sydney Supanova and MelbGeddon

True, Alois is too awesome to wear his clothes properly XD
Yeah... Maybe I'll wear it if our group does a photoshoot or something, but definitely not to a con

I am really hopin' we can do a photoshoot other then at Supanova because there are just so few good places for good pictures at the showgrounds, especially Gothic-y Victorian-y pictures :c but I'm not good at organising stuff anyway. Dude you already have 50% of your outfit done??? I need to get a move on lol. Claude is supposed to be organised but I sure ain't >3>

Anyways is anyone going to Armageddon to see a certain celeb? My brother and bf both want to meet John DiMaggio- I'm going to see Vic Mignogna and get him to sign my automail
