Shinigami uniform: width of sleeves?

So, the width of my sleeves were originally measured to be 18 inches. I tried out the pattern in the mirror (because of the way sewing the kimono works, the sleeve panels are cut double the width so they can drape over the shoulder and arm front and back). I think it might be a little long (it goes down to my waist), but I don't want it to be too short otherwise it will look like crap.

Suggestions?
