Hihi. I'm actually in the process of using your tutorial to wash one of my long brown wigs.
Though, I have a curious question. I still have some of the 'potion' left (ahaha~) Would it be ok if I left it in the bottle and save it for when I wash another one of my wigs or should I dump it and make a new batch everytime?

@ LadyRawr: Hey there! Yes, it's safe to keep hair spray in a while for a long while. You'll just want to wash out all the hair spray if you wish to restyle the wig.
@ Horu-chan: I always use the same potion I have. It doesn't mold or go bad, so it's safe to use on wigs for a long while. c:

When washing curly/wavy wigs, is there a way to keep the curls in after they're done?

The waves/curls should bounce back once the wig is dry, just like with human hair. Just make sure you use luke warm water or even cold water to wash your wig, so to be sure it will not be straightened by the heat.
If you're still worried, you can always roll in some hair curlers while the wig is still damp and let it dry with the curlers in. c: Use small curlers for tight curls and large curlers for waves. Hope I helped!

Okay i has a question, So my stocking wig.
Is VERY tangled, And gross because bubble solution had gotten on it. Would washing it help it? It is very hard to brush and i am not sure what to do ... :c I just got it and i went to an event and now it's completely ruined.

Washing it will help immensely, especially if the bubble solution is making it harder to brush out. After washing it, I would suggest just slathering it in conditioner and letting it sit for a few hours to make it easier to brush out. I did that with one of my longer wigs and it helped a lot.
I suggest investing in some silicon spray and spraying your wig with it after it's been dried and brushed out. The spray will prevent your wig from tangling as bad as it did before. c: If you go to page 3 in this thread, I posted a link to another thread that explains the silicon spray more and how to use it in detangling a wig.

You wash curly wigs just the same as you would a straight wig. c: The curls bounces right back just as they would in real hair.

thank you so much for this tutorial! I ordered a wig and it came with a bunch of really obnoxious smelling product in it :C So I washed it using this method and now it's drying in my room C: It's a gift for a friend so I'm glad it no longer smells like that, instead it smells beautiful now :D

You've said it works with curly wigs as well, but would you still comb out a curly wig though? I would think doing so would separate the curls out and make it frizzy. Is that not the case?
Also, do you use all the shampoo solution for one wig? Thanks for this tut, very helpful. |
