Hey-lo, my fellow cosplayers. As the title says, I'm looking to make Luka Megurine's "Magnet" dress as a cosplay, for Colorado's upcoming cosplay New Year's Eve Ball. Obviously, I know there's no "official" version of Luka's dress, but I do have something in mind that I'd like to emulate, and I was hoping someone could give me a good recommendation on a pattern to come close to it.
Firstly, the following link is the dress I'd like to match- or come close to matching, anyways. Click the fourth picture for a clearer view of the dress I'm looking to make, as the "cosplay pictures" don't match the actual dress offered.
E-bay Listing, Luka Magnet Dress
As you can see, the dress is a halter-style top with a layered skirt. Of course, there's also the white waist band and bow, but I have plans for that. Now, I've already picked up one evening dress pattern that has the exact halter-style I want, but not the skirt. What I'm really looking for is a pattern that has this style of layered skirt to it- bubbled or not, either is fine. Does anyone have a good pattern they can recommend for this? I have no problem putting two different patterns together, but I want to be sure to make this nice, so any suggestions would be great! If you have a pattern number you think would work for this, please let me know!
As far as the waist-band/bow goes, I saw this fabulous cosplay someone did of Magnet Luka where the bow was actually another butterfly, but in black & white. I'm going to try that.
Thank you, everyone!
