Jill Valentine B.S.A.A. costume

forgive me if there is already a thread for this costume...ive not found it. So i thought id create another one, to 1 - organise links for parts for the costume and 2 - progress of my costume
please add away with any links to costume parts you may have found!

First thing - the top pattern. I found a really good one to work as a base, i think that is way easier than trying to convert an existing top -
Kwik Sew 3452

looking at taking two pairs of stretch white denim jeans and cutting up one pair to make the pockets and knee details

Boots - i dont have an exact pair, as mine have zips on the side, but the details other than that are the same..so ill glue on fake zips down the front and hide the side zip into the paint scheme!

currently doing a search for her various tac gear....Uk sites so it'l save on shipping!

question i wanted to ask...does she have the B.S.A.A. patch anywhere on her costume..as i cant see it!

A couple of notes: her pants are actually light gray, I believe, not really white. If anything, they're off-white. And no, she does not have a BSAA patch anywhere on her uniform. Jill's a rebel like that.

yeah im going to dye the trousers to grey. im starting with white so i can easily buy 2 pairs of denim trousers, add the pockets and knee details..then dye it all together to the grey shade they appear, though ive seen so many different images, ill go with slightly darker than the hot toys doll.

looking back, i should have mentioned that lol.

dammit, i like the B.S.A.A. patch....lol

Her pants are like really freaking weird. Because she's never in good light (even in Mercenaries) her pants are never the same color. They go between a really light gray, to dark cream to white. In terms of her vertical shoulder holster I found this one which is pretty nice for a decent price (http://www.opticsplanet.net/leapers-...hlight-la.html) but it doesn't have double mag holsters, so I removed the gun holster and replaced it with a second one.

(Btw thanks for that link to her shirt ;D I had to make mine from a body suit base lol, and that was really tough.)

I've decided as i cant find her holster im going to make it. With a core of funky foam, itl be made from pleather and Nylon webbing. Might just tear apart a rucksack to use the materials as it seems to be a combo of what they use there and leather.

Might be an idea to take the shirt pattern and combine it with a bodysuit, so the top never rides up from the trousers.

I prefer darker grey, so im going with that option, rather than white hehe

Yeah, I actually had no trouble with keeping my shirt in place because of the body suit fit, the toughest time was keeping my gear tight enough. (From now on I will only buy gear online if it's MADE to be worn by a woman. I had to alter my shoulder holster because it was too broad on my back and shoulders and my drop belt ammo and gun attachments were both really loose and had to be modified so I could pull them tight. And this was in the smallest size avaliable (and I'm an average girl, not like, super petite or anything). So just fyi if you do buy online xD

Oh and I like the BSAA patch too xD I was a rebel and stuck it on one of my pouches on the belt.

ah good idea about the placement of the patch!

im not that small anymore, but usually have to wear most belts on the smallest placement too!
making the shoulder harness means i can make it to fit me perfectly.

Yeah I really love that idea. I'm remaking this costume (less than a week to make a costume is a bad idea =/) so tell me how that works! I might steal the idea =P

im going to need help marking out the harness, but the idea i have is to take some paper, place against my back and have my partner trace out roughly where the harness would sit on my back. That'd give me a rough idea of the dimensions of the back of the harness.
then I'll draw out a pattern of the harness using the dimensions of the tracing.
The basic design will look like a rectangle ( the part sitting across the shoulders, with 2 cresents off each end of the rectangle. those make the straps.

Funky foam will be the core of the harness and it'l be covered with leatherette for the back part and nylon for the straps.

Yeah her holster is just SO unique it's impossible to find one identical so if you wanted one you'd have to make it. I do love that idea though (I will keep saying that xD). I'm hoping to get to work on her within a few months, of course convention costumes take priority!
