You make a very stunning Princess Neptune, of course you probably knew
that by now. Just curious thou, what happened to your Alexia_Ishtar account?

I just decided to change to Chibi Lenne, everyone knows me as that anyway. And its less confusing to have one screen name instead of two.

^^; And I could finally remeber your old one ><

Is buying a costume bad? Will someone punish me for it?

Since my moms to lazy to listen to me, and I can barely sew, I've been looking at getting one made by a...commissioner? Is that a good idea, or should I just suck it up and get the pattern?

There's absolutely nothing wrong with buying a costume. As long as you don't try to enter it into a masquerade under the pretense that it is your own work.

I've always completely agree'd. Not everyone is in the position where making a costume is even plausible. As long as you don't try and pass it off as your own, there's no hard in buying a costume.

Agreed! That's the reason I dislike my Eternal Neptune so much. >_<! It was done in a rush as a favor for a friend. If I ever remake it, I won't be salvaging -anything-

Satin is only good for one thing.. Prom dresses..

Satin may be pretty and shiney but it look tacky as a Sailor Scout's costumes. Who in their right mind would fight evil in satin? Its itchy, its crinkly, and it so does not flow like it should.

Bah.. WILL NEVER make uniform in Satin, ever..

Fae: I used satin for my Princess Neptune dress, it looks -alright- mind you its a pain to steam it before wearing it v.v. My biggest fear with that costume is that it would look 'cheap' or 'shiny cheap' in photos. Didn't turn out too bad...the fuku on the other hand *burns it* never again!

Right, the dress is fine, in fact, beautiful. Dresses that are supposed to be elegant and shiney (prom dresses. lol) are wonderful for satins, but the fuku's shoud never be satin IMHO. It just doesn't flow right for a "super hero" type of character. (Unless you are doing Sera Myu which has lots of shiney costumes!)

For Fukus I seriously loved how Gidget's came out when she used simple and inexpensive Crepe. It flowed, it spun well and it layed in very prettily.

Fae.

(Not dissin the satin, just stating my opinion.)

I bought satin before finding out not to use it. But luckily Manga SuperMoon is painted like whoa. XD

The only bad thing is that even if we serge it, it still frays. It was hell to put a zipper into it. I hate it with a passion. DX

Satin is a cosplayer's worst nightmare. I've seen it used on too many things it shouldn't be, not only fukus.

Luna: I love your manga version. When I first saw it I was like "Wtf on crack much?" then I actually was like "wait..manga ooo pretty" XD

I love how one person mentioning they were going to go buy their fabric has sparked this whole "satin is evil" thing. XDDD

Not that I disagree of course, I think too many people get caught up in the "ooooo shiny, oooo pretty" and think it will make their costume look good. Unfortunately....it doesn't...

Heh, k, NO satin. XDD That's what I was thinking in the beginning when I first decided to cosplay too. o.o;;;

I couldn't get to Fabric Place, grr. >< What DO you think I should use for the fuku instead of satin? *will attempt to go this weekend* I REALLY want to start...

BTW, Chibi- you make a beautiful Princess Neptune, and Skyefall, your Pluto-chan wig is stunning. Great job on your costumes!
