Question Bodice question~

Sorry if this has already been asked, but how do you achieve the, well, 'shelf' like look on the bust of the bodice? I'm just curious. I'm going to do a sailor jupiter cosplay and I'd like to go in with as much knowledge as possible so i don't totally mess it up. xD ref: http://sailorscoutwolrd.webs.com/pho...or-jupiter.jpg

Some people just put a seam there, and some people opt to make an entirely different piece to put on top of their leotard or whatever you're using.

@Katdragon; I made mine like a "crop top", but sports bras have similar seams, or just making a seam with thread.

Up to you.

It depends which version you are doing, eg the Live action PGSM costumes have a distinctly seperate boob armour piece which fits over the leotard, and looks like it is made out of shaped foam or similar.
For the anime version, and also seen on models and figures, the bodice looks like a one piece but has a distinct underbust line which runs all the way around. Some people interpret this as simply a seam line in the fabric pieces of a leotard. I personally think the line is more pronounced than just a seam join.. so I think it represents the bra/support. - ie represents either the visible bra line showing through the leotard, or some kind of seperate bra top. I went with the seperte bra top idea for my Mars.
Take your pick. Any will work.

It might be a good idea to carefully 'paint' the clear floor stuff along the cloudy edges using a tiny brush - the size like a lip brush.. Car polish might act differently, it might be easier to apply and just buff up. I would experiment with the products first on a sample or tiny area where it will be less noticeable. If it works good then you can go ahead on the cloudy areas with confidence.
And you're very welcome. Sharing info and helping each other is a lovely thing.
Sorry it took so long to reply! I haven't gotten around to working on it (life has been crazy), hope to work on it soon.

I'm actually starting to worry a fair amount. Anime North is a month away, and I haven't really gotten any of my costume done. I'm sure that if I devote the time on weekends, and get more energy during weeknights after coming home from work, then I'll be able to get the costume together somehow, but I'm quite worried about the Silence Glaive. I'm trying to figure out if it's possible to get it commissioned... but being that the con is a month from now I don't think it'd be enough time to get it done. I have a couple of leads (I know a guy who commissions costumes so I'll ask him, and I read on Mallory Evans' facebook page that she's made a couple extra glaives so while they aren't my favourite that is an option), but I'm quite worried about it... Hmm...

But anyway... Yes indeed, sharing info and helping others is a lovely thing. It's so great that there are communities like this where we can help each other out!

I bought an unassembled Sailor Saturn resin kit from this e-bay seller a year ago. I recommend them! http://myworld.ebay.ca/sesame1207?ss...:X:RTQ:CA:1181

EDIT: Crisis averted, I managed to get in touch with a local friend who is willing to make my Silence Glaive for me, and it should only take 2 weeks! YAY! *Phew* Now to make time to work on the actual costume!

Thank you so much. I never did a resin kit. I was watching on youtube on how to clean it and make it all pretty.

Admittedly I haven't completed my resin kit yet, it takes a fair amount of time and patience (I've read that it's best to drill holes and stick pins in the joints to make the whole thing more stable, stopped half-way through because I drilled through the piece and nicked my finger, ouch), but it looks like the results will be worth it! Good luck, send me some pictures when you're done, I'd love to see!

In Chibiusa's stars school uniform would you guys say that she'd still have red shoes? Or would she have the usual brown/black loafer type shoe?

Edit: Also got my fabric for body switch school uniform Chibi-Usa today! :3

I do resin kits too. There is a very good website for resin kit building called E2046. People are friendly and helpfull there and lots of WIPs, Tutorial links, and How to's in the forum section
eg link - http://forum.e2046.com/viewforum.php...dd8ad66 a20f1

Its a huge site so it takes time to navigate around and see everything.

Okay, so I'm thinking of doing one of these two numbers for my skit. Can someone give me some advice on which one to do?

Not sure if this helps since it's from the anime, but I have a couple of screenshots from the first few episodes of Sailor Stars. It looks like Chibiusa still has her red shoes.

So any thoughts? I keep deciding on one, and then switching to the other about 4 times a day

Depends on how much dancing you want to do really. I love the beat and the dance to both but I've found that trying to follow and learn Set me free difficult. I'm not much use but Tsuki Iro no Syndicate would be a good one to alone as that's what it mainly is but I can't see Set Me Free as a solo only as a group becuase it has more impact that way.

Hope this doesn't make the decision more difficult.

Thanks RoseHanabira
I shouldn't even be thinking of that yet since I'm not doing that cosplay until August (and have one to get out of the way for May >.<)
But.. even worse than that.. I worked on a cosplay that isn't supposed to even be though of until Halloween/YoumaCon :O

http://www.cosplay.com/photo/2915951/
I saw these fleur-de-lys pendants today and couldn't resist making them into Black Lady earrings >.< (and forgot the whole reason why I went in the store O_O)

I have a question.. the tiara I have, the star is more fushia/light purple than pink.. is there any way I could.. "paint" the star jewel? Especially without it looking cheap? OR should I just deal?
