I attached the collar at the front using a snap, and the skirt using 4 ... snaps... The whole costume snaps together; the bow in the front, the one in the back too. It's completely modular.

This is how mine is done to. Mostly so I can easily get in and out of it, than for the fun of being able to change it out. XD

I'm so happy! In 4 days, with the patient help of the mother of my best friend, my princess serenity cosplay is going along well. I learned a whole lot from her. We added more chiffon ontop of the white cotton so we'd be able to gather it and we'll shorten the cotton train so it'll be less heavy. ^_^ We might of found a neat idea for the sleeves too!

I'm scared about the wig though T_T..

Gamewow: i made my collar attach by a single front snap. The skirt has a snap in front and sticky velcro in back. Since I have larger hips though, I do not necessarily need the velcro but it helps with the proper v dip. for the bows I use safety pins.

i finished small lady last night. spent around 8 to 10 hours total. and i really like it.

Lycra shortage crisis averted, picked some up while I was out of town. *u* I also bought some velvet ribbon for the Messiah's wrist bands on the sleeves, and some 1/4" black bias tape to see if I like that width for the Messiah's bow belt stripes.

I'm going to have three straight days coming up of just sewing, I should finally get a huge chunk of this stuff done! Messiah skirt, bustier, and Saturn leotard should for sure get done, I'm mostly nervous about the Messiah's blouse-bodysuit, so much fiddly fabric and details. I'll likely end up hand-stitching in the sandwiched-in-a-seam off-shoulder ruffles to make sure I don't catch anything weirdly, I do need to do the satin-stitch around the black star hole by hand anyway. I think I'll pick at sewing the Saturn gloves during the rest of the week, too.

This icon reminds me of Coke, which is seriously my best friend during 8+ hour sewing sessions.

So guys!

I ordered my wig for Moon, boyfriend was dumb and now it's being sent to his house! ><" (I'm impatient)
I also finished my skirt, and hip roll is attached. So Moon is 95% finished, all I gotta do is armour and sleeves. Or skip armour, and just sleeves. Thoughts?

Small Lady was finished last week, just got to fray check the skirt. :3 I'm really happy with how it turned out though. Super pretty, not see through so it didn't need to be lined, and comfy/warm!

Also one of my friends made my odango's and hair feathers and they are GORGEOUS. Waiting to get them. <3

Finished the Messiah's beast of a skirt! But not without a fight with my sewing machine. No, seriously, look at all those layers. (Yep, that's the black suedecloth fabric on the left.) It was a workout on my right arm forcing the needle through all those layers manually whenever it panicked and stopped, which at some points was every single stitch.

Saturn's bodysuit is also finished, just need to cut out the collar space and attach the shoulder wing things. I feel unbelievably paranoid though about a couple of the seams possibly not being in the right places, but I keep reminding myself that once the collar and front bow go on it won't be quite so obvious.

Next on the list: Finish the bustier, assemble the Messiah blouse-bodysuit, finish Saturn, and then marathon through the rest of the Messiah. I think I'll start the bow belt once the bustier is finished rather than wait until everything else is done so I can quit panicking about it. Thank god that's fairly straightforward, I just need to actually stitch the stripes on since they're too thin for Heat 'n Bond.

Also, a lesson kids: Don't Heat 'n Bond things to suedecloth. Even if you have it on the lowest heat setting, the heat required to bond something will still end up shrinking the suedecloth. Once I re-cut out the panels and sew them together, I'll have to hand sew the ribbon on each seam once the entire thing is assembled. Over boning. Yep. ;_; My fingers already hurt. You are a beast, Messiah!

Progress thus far

I decided to go with the Mugen uniform. It's only about 80% done but I will end up fixing it within the next month so it fits a lot better and I'm happier with it.

The lines on the skirt and bow are all fabric market which was quite a number of hours just drawing lines..and lines...and lines...and lines... x.X

Hey everyone, I posted a while back about doing a Super Sailor Chibi-moon but I've decided to go with Mars instead for now. I already had most of the stuff I need so I figured I'd do hers first since it's a simpler costume (i.e. no hand dyeing).

I'm leaving to study abroad soon (tuesday) so I've been working on the accessories as a way to occupy my time. Let me know what you think of how it's all looking so far, and any suggestions you have to improve it:

I need help T_T. I had a brain bubble and decided to make my boyfriend's Prince Endymion's outfit instead... but I have no idea on how to begin it..

I know he has some kind of black shirt under his chest armor,black pants under the really long boots.. but I have no idea how I'd do the chest armor, hip armor pieces and the boot covers

Can anybody help me..? thanks!

Gothic: I like your progress, that henshin wand is perfect!!

Hsien-ko: Eep... I don't know how to make armour, maybe try the prop making sub-forum? I know craft foam or wonderflex are ideal to make armour with though.

I've only done a little bit of armor work (on Fran, you can see pictures in my gallery) and I'm on my phone so I can't give a really detailed response but it's pretty easy to do. His armor is pretty simple too so you should be able to make it with craft foam.
