Oh hey! Thanks for the reply.
(This is actually for a Zatsune Miku cosplay to be specific, I'm just tweaking the official outfit to be red instead of teal. I don't really like Zatsune's "official" outfit, I think Miku's is cuter. I guess it still counts as Miku, because I'm pretty sure people use different fabrics depending on the character. Or maybe I'm just over thinking this. xD)
Oh, I hate wrinkles. Cotton has them pretty bad after pre-washing, but then after the con it's just like dead with wrinkles. I'll look into Casa Satin. I loved your Miku cosplay =] I didn't see any wrinkles though. I think I will lean toward the stretch sateen though, sounds nicer and maybe alittle more forgiving because of the lack of shine. I honestly prefer cotton over poly because cotton breathes (cons can become sooo hot).
Ah, topstitching pleats. I've always thought about doing that, but I wasnt' sure if warp the pleats once they're put on. Pleats do drape nicely and I just assumed that top stitching them down would kill that effect. But hey, now I should just try it, especially if it holds after being washed, that makes me happy inside. (Pleats are very evil when they come undone! Grrr!!)
Haha, maybe my iron is just really hot because if there is anything other than cotton in the fabric, it melts. =[
Thanks a ton for the input. It really helped. I do need to go the fabric store and look at some fabrics. I might ask more questions at GK if this cosplay starts to hurt me.
