Success! Finished my first ever half marathon this morning, with a time of 2 hours and 16 minutes. I walked twice for about 15 seconds to go up a couple of hills at the end, but I really couldn't care less. I trained my booty off for this, and I know I did my best today. Plus I'm actually really happy with my time. Also, according to the running app I use, I burned over 1500 calories during those 2 hours. NICE.

Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to take a nap of epic proportions. We could be talking days.

I've been trying to get in shape for a while now, but to be perfectly honest, I was sort of half-assing it. If I didn't feel perfectly fabulous or I was sore from the day before, I'd "take a day off," which often wound up being more like several days. Or a week. Or a month.

This time, though, I'm really committing. Getting back into cosplay is actually what's really inspired me. So I love that this thread (and all the other fitness threads) exists!

But enough rambling. Today was my cardio day, so I did a 40-minute cardio dance DVD (part of a series called "Dance off the Inches"). And I kind of feel like a dork tossing that in amidst all the serious running and weightlifting. But hey, whatever works, right? :3

Pshhh, I still love me some DDR to get the heart going on occasion. We're all dorks here. Otherwise we wouldn't be talking about fitness on a cosplay site.
Good for you for getting your cardio on!

Gave myself yesterday off to recuperate. I think I kind of earned it, honestly. Haha. Getting back out there slowly. Walked a couple miles to and from the store, and plan to do some weighted suitcase crunches, pushups, and maybe some kettlebell swings tonight. Got an obstacle course 5k this weekend, and I've gotten a bit lax with my strength training recently. Gotta get back on that and quickly!

Nice. I saw you a couple of time is Deidara at Sak. I'm really looking forward to Fanime though! I hope to see you there.

I didn't work out yesterday but I had enough calories left for dinner that I didn't need to workout. I didn't have a whole lot of energy anyway. So I was right at my calorie deficit goal and I was able to keep my fat % around 20.

Today is chest, arms and shoulders day. I plan on actually going to the gym this time and doing bench press with more weight than the 40 lbs I have at home. I also want to see if they can take my body fat % there. I just feel like when I do it, its off...not sure by how much.

Haha, thanks! that's an excellent point. XD

I did part A of the Generic Protagonist Workout today - all four rounds. I've modified things a bit, though. Since I don't have a pullup bar yet (think I might go ahead and get one come payday, though), I've been putting the handweights I bought ages ago to good use. Finally.

Thanks. I just wish that I was able to lift more. I may increase the weight and just do 3x5 rather than 8 until I am able to bump it up a little. Or maybe I'm just not trying as hard as I can? I've kinda plateaued with bench and its frustrating. I got to 90 once and I have never been able to do it since. I really want to get to 135

Swap to 3x5 for a fortnight or so, see how it goes.

Not cleared to do any hard core exercise yet, but I walked over 4 miles according to my pedometer and burnt over 1000 calories.

20 crunches
15 twists.
The usual daily 10 mile bike ride on a fixie up the valley.
10 really slow push ups. Shakin' like a chihuahua.
If I do 10 push ups a day, how long until I see results?

Restarted my weight training routine. Gotta work back up to where I was. I fell of the wagon and landed in a ditch.

Just finished a zombie themed 5k obstacle course! I'm muddy and gross, but I feel like such a badass! Not a bad workout for the day. Haha
