Just finished a zombie themed 5k obstacle course! I'm muddy and gross, but I feel like such a badass! Not a bad workout for the day. Haha

I just did my first day of the 30 Day Shred. Kicked my butt haha.
Soon I want to start training for my first 5k. I'm doing the Color Run in August with some people I work with, but I don't want to walk the whole thing, I'd like to jog/run as much of it as I can.

It was so much fun! Typical muddy obstacles, but also had several dozen zombies placed periodically that you had to avoid. You had 3 flags, and they would try to steal them from you. It was such a great time.

Blooshine- that sounds like so much fun. There are a lot of 5k training programs out there if you wanted to follow a schedule. They could have ou running the whole thing by racetime! If you're interested, I recommend the Hal Higdon, because he has several levels. From walking, to novice, all the way to expert.

This past week has been bad for me. It was a very emotional week and I wasn't able to workout as much as I wanted, in fact only 3 days and only two of them were weight days.

Though I got my issues sorted out and I am back on track. I got a new goal to help me focus too. Fanime is at the end of May and I really would like to participate in Ab Con as I call it. So I am back to focusing on my diet and trying to workout 5-6 days a week. Also between today and May 21st I plan on running 50 miles. That will equal out to about 12 miles a week. I should be able to easily do that in a week seeing how I normally jog for 30 minutes on the days I don't do weights, I plan on bumping that up to 45 minutes. And when I do weights I still typically jog for 15 minutes either before or after depending what I am doing (if its leg day I have to jog before. My legs are too dead to jog after)

Anyway,
Saturday I walked for 30 minutes on my manual treadmill
Sunday I walked for an hour on my manual treadmill
Both days my heart rate was around 160 90% of the time.

I'll have to check it out, thank you!
I saw one that someone had come up with for Color Runners, so I think I'll try that for a couple of weeks and then look that guy up. I'm determined to do it because I'd really like to do that and the Electric Run a month later.

Also, I'm so jealous of you! I really wish I could do the zombie obstacle course run, but the next one in my area is in June and I'm not sure if I'd be ready for it. But I guess we'll see by the end of May!
Was it kind of intimidating? I was a little intimidated by the fact that people would be chasing me.

Woo Started on my 50 miles. I did 1.75 miles in 15 minutes as a warm up before my weights. Today I can easily get at least 3.25 miles in getting my total to 5 miles so far. Today is just a cardio day. I'm going to shoot for 45 minutes of running. If I am able to run that long (never tried) I should be able to get to 4.5 miles.

ANYWAY! Monday:
15 minutes on Treadmill 1.75 miles
Squats 3x5: 185, 205, 215
dead lifts 3x5: 115, 125, 135 (REACHED BODY WEIGHT! WOO!)
Back Extensions 3x20
pull ups 2x5: 110, 110
Chin ups 2x5: 110, 110
Leg Press 3x5: 280, 320, 340
Single Leg Press 3x5: 140, 140, 140
Row 3x8: 75, 90, 90
Lat Pull Down 3x5: 75, 90, 90
Wall sits 3x: 1 minute, 45 seconds, 45 seconds
Leg Adduction 3x5: 190, 205, 220
Workout time: 55 minutes

Ran 3.25 miles yesterday in 28.5 minutes. Total miles so far: 5. 45 miles to go!

Today is chest, arms, and shoulders day again. I think I may also try to figure out my new mile time. Since I am able to roughly an 8.5 minute mile for about 30 minutes I should be able to run one mile in 7.5 miles right? Seems logical to me, though my calves are very sore from running hills yesterday. I will report back later!

YESTERDAY WAS A GREAT DAY FOR REACHING GOALS! I did another 1.75 mile in 15 minutes. I was able to do a mile in 7.5 minutes and I had enough energy to run more so I probably could have gone faster. I may try to get to a 7 minute mile next week.

I did chest, arms and shoulders yesterday
Bench Press 3x5: 75, 85, 90 (I finally got back to 90 lbs)
Dips 15 body weight dips
bicep curls 3x8: 20, 20, 20
Shoulder press 3x8: 15, 15,15 (it was too easy, need to bump up the weight)
Lateral Raise 3x8: 8, 8, 8
Vertical Raise 3x8: 8, 8, 8
Triceps dips 3x15
Regular Push-ups 3x10 (arms down to 90 degrees)

Workout time: 45 minutes

I'm doing great so far this week. That was my 5th day in a row working out after a crappy week last week. Depending on how I feel Friday I may take Saturday and Sunday off instead of my normal Sunday. My body really doesn't need a workout 8 days in a row x.x

Ran 3 miles yesterday in 25 minutes. Total mile count is 9.75

I'm not sure if I am going to workout today and take Saturday and Sunday off or take today and Sunday off and do legs and back Saturday. I'll decide by the end of the day. I imagine I will probably take today off. My calves are sore from running yesterday.

Yesterday was my first full session at the gym (had a trainer do an assessment the other day, and yesterday she gave me a workout routine to do 3 days a week to improve what needed work), and I've noticed doing a light warm-up and workout really helps with any stiffness and soreness I've been having the next day (I had some soreness after the assessment as well since it was a lot of "do x until you just can't do it anymore").

So I'm trying to take my lunch time sitting in my cube to be a little more productive by doing things like a few sets of lunges, some push ups, and some crunches, and then a walk around the halls a bit. Definitely feel like my muscles a more relaxed now, and makes me feel less lazy, ha ha.

So today, I did...
3 sets of lunges, 5-5-10 (would've done two sets of 10, but the first two of five were while I waited for my lunch to heat in the break room and I had to keep checking on it)
2 sets of crunches, 10-10
and 1 set of push-ups, 10 (arms were worked a bit extra yesterday and were pretty sore already, just wanted to get them moving a bit to relieve some soreness)
