I need heeeelp~!

All right, I don't know a thing about wigs, so I'm not sure what to do on this part of my costume.

I had previously planned on bleaching my own hair, but the mum says that she really doesn't want me to, so I'm going with a wig.

So what should I use for a hair do like this?

It also has a short mullet in the back:

The most accurate picture for the color I need is here:

An obviously-bleached-blond, rather than a natural-looking blond. Has a very goldish look to it.

What do you suggest?

Hmm, I would start with a wig that's the length of the mullet in the back there, then color with a yellow-gold marker if you can find one (And if you want, make the roots dark so they're like Kyo's :D). Then, start separating the hair with bobby into little sections that correspond with the layers of the cuts in his hair (You'll probably want to make a sketch of all his little cut layers so the sides are all matching). After you've sectioned this off, get some styling POMADE, gel really doesn't do s--- when it comes to wigs, 'cept for keeping the frizzyness down. (BTW, I used LA Looks Pomade holding strength 10 to hold the curls in my Gackt wig up. Worked really well considering the tips were weighted down with white paint @.@;) Then, put some pomade on a section, tease like his hair is teased, and carefully snip at it 'til it's the right size. Just repeat that for the rest of the wig and you should be fine :D

Thank you for replying! And thank you for your help. ^_^

Do you know of certain wigs that would work best for it color-wise? Are bleach-blond colored wigs easy to come by? o_O Or would I need to do the bleaching myself? And should I get a wig with or without bangs? (probably no?) I've looked around at some wigs online and they show the colors they come in (small sample color box) but I don't know how accurate the color boxes are to the actual wig, so I'm asking everyone else.

Ack...really making us work to see your pictures. XD

Anyway, the two things you might want to look into are two-toned wigs (usually black roots, plus a color on the tips) and wigs that already have a spiky puff (thicker crimped hair at base of the top strands)
...such as tina punky wigs available at witchwigs.com and other places, too. Here's what they look like unaltered -- http://images.cosplay.com/showphoto.php?photo=29841

I used a two-tone mix for my Kaoru wig, and it was so much easier starting from that than trying to dye anything or add additional strands of hair. (Okay, and there -are- added removable spikes in the Raison D'etre version of it there...made from all the hair I cut off the sides. But most of it is already spiky just due to the nature of those wigs.)

I also used a tina punky wig for Lida and ended up cutting most of it off, but it was worth it to get the bangs and feathered effect which you just don't see very often in already short wigs.

Anyway, you can get the puff and the mullet and the roots just by cutting down a wig like that, and you don't need to do much else.
...And yeah, Pomade is great stuff for crazy angles. Kyo's hair is kinda not even that extreme here, so it should definently work out for you and you won't need much of it.

Eh? I'm confused.

So, would this wig be good if I colored roots with a permanent marker (since it doesn't have any jet black with blonde tips)?

http://www.worldofmagic.net/cartsnap...t+51+Tina/Punk

If so, would I want "yellow blonde" or "golden orange?"

Sorry, I'm being so nit-picky about this. XD

I'd say go for golden orange. But if your willing to color the whole wig with a yellow marker for a more precise color, I'd say start with platinum blonde :D

Coloring the roots like you mentioned sounds good ^^

Yeah, for photos, it's always better to be on a more saturated end than a too washed out one, so golden orange might be better. But if you are coloring in the whole thing by hand anyway, you probably wanna go platinum, because I'm not sure how well the wigs are going to take bleach.
Anyway, marker coloring is going to take a while, especially doing the roots, so make sure you have enough time. And don't use a washable marker or it's going to smear all over into the lighter tips. O_o

Hmm...coloring a platinum blonde...I'm afraid to do that...knowing me I'll mess it up completely, but I'm considering it. I've never tried coloring a wig before o.O but it'd be cool to have the precise color I want. Do you think I would need more than one color shade for it or just one, and how many would I need to cover it?

I've never colored a wig before but I'd say just one shade of a certain color. And...I'm not really sure how many you'd need o.o
