Hey guys! I've completely redone my Mad-eye costume and wanted to see what you guys thought of it. I'm doing a younger Mad-eye but I do plan on getting a wig and more stage makeup to make me look older.

First of all, you really have Mad-Eye's face, and you pull it off fantastically.

However, you may want to add some detailing to the actual eye--give it some more color, make it look more realistic.
The coat--you could rough it up a bit and make it look older and more worn. Right now it looks too clean, and Mad-Eye isn't really the spick-and-span type.

Another thing I noticed is that Mad-Eye has a belt...very basic, black, shouldn't be too hard to find.
Lastly, the staff/walking stick/whatever it is needs to be bigger, chunkier, and look more worn as well. I'm not sure how you'd do that (a tree branch, maybe; I have no idea).

Just make the costume look a bit more worn, and I'd say you've got it.

(Sorry I'm such a stickler for details...being a Harry Potter nerd and all)

The only thing I feel is missing is the hair. I know that finding a wig is harder for guys buy Mad-Eye Moody's hair is wirier and blonde. I adds to his deranged look.

Thank you guys so much for giving me some good feed back. I agree with the weathering and scaring. I put this together in less than an hour. Your right I do need to rough it up a bit. Now about the eye. Its not supposed to be realistic, in the books and in the movies its a magical looking eye.

I'm not sure I'm feeling the pearly buttons on your black suit shirt underneath though ^^;;; Now it looks a bit like you're wearing a tailored and very clean Japanese boys' school uniform (a gakuran) underneath.

It'd be hella cool if you could wire the eye up so it'd move ^__^

For the eye you could give it a couple coats of gloss to make it shiny, or maybe even buy a doll eye instead- those things are pretty creepy-looking, lol. I also second the wig suggestion but since it's a younger version he might not be so scraggly as he is in his later years. I think you make a very convincing Mad-Eye, I'll be interested to see it when you get the tweaks done!

Thank you guys for all the support! I just got a job so I'll be starting back on my cosplay stuff very soon!
SailorEarth - Yeah I'm going to put a coat of clear gloss on it to give it that slimy eye look.
I'm in the process of finding a cheap blond wig to use right now and after I get some cash flow I'm going to get some liquid latex to make the scaring look better

Great Mad-Eye Moody cosplay.
I agree make-up and a wig would complete the look.
Overall though, it's perfect.

Moody scares me...but he's amazing as well!
