My family, friends, and anime...? Ugh.

Can someone please help me? I want to get a friend into anime and make my family understand what anime really is. And is there anywhere I can make friends that's not just online? I want to meet people in my state.
I'm trying so hard not to curse right now. But god, my family and "friends" are so FREAKING annoying when it comes to anime! My "friends" were so annoying that I just ditched them one day and it wasn't even to join another team! :P (heh...monsters university reference). They just wouldn't accept me or accept that I like anime. I tried to very nicely ask a "friend" to watch Puella Magi Madoka Magica. She didn't even watch, even though she said she would. And I was really nice about it; I told her she didn't have to like it--just give it a TRY. She just went on calling anime stupid. Ugh, she pissed me off so much! And don't even get me started on my other friends...
And oh god. My FAMILY.
They are the WORST when it comes to anime. My little 5-year-old sister just likes whatever I like and she's totally cute that way. Once I was acting out a scene from Madoka Magica for her and she loved it. And then my older sister (we're really close, but she just gets on my nerves sometimes) started asking why I was showing her trash. I told her that SHE was the one who shared the lesson from My Little Pony Friendship is Magic: DON'T KNOCK SOMETHING UNTIL YOU'VE TRIED IT!! And she just ignored me. So yeah. My mom still thinks it's all porn and stuff and she doesn't even believe when I say NOT ALL OF IT IS.
I don't watch any hentai stuff. Just the regular 13& up stuff. Occasionally I watch 15+ anime like Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuutsu. They just won't accept anything...and they're trying to make me give it up. Apparently, it's against our religion, Islam. Yeah right. That's not one bit true. It's not like I watch the porn crap.
I'm also very open about what I watch and make sure my parents know. I even let them know the general plot of the anime when I'm about to start watching a new series. And I do research on it to make sure there's no nudity.
I have two best friends who I can talk to about anything, even anime~they even understand me. And I have two new friends who like anime too, but I never get to see one and the other lives 3 hours away. But we still chat sometimes.
Sorry for the chunky post! But thank you for reading.

Uhh well I can only go about this bluntly. You CAN'T make people watch anime. You can tell them about it and if they're interested they'll carry through but if not then you need to just leave it alone. Going by your post I'm assuming you're still in high school still. Although don't feel too bad I was like that when I was in high school as well so I speak of this from experience. Can't please everyone you know?

My family is also very religious so I don't discuss anime with them ever. When I was younger they tried to steer me from anime as well because its even more offensive in the christian community then anything but after a point they realized how much worse situations I could have myself in and left me alone to my devices (: Its just a matter of time, assuming you stick around(in the anime community) long enough.
