Greetings, Program: TRON cosplay construction resource thread

For anyone interested in TRON cosplay, I've compiled links to tutorials and materials that should be useful or at the least helpful in the construction of your very own TRON suit.

http://www.instructables.com/id/how-...other-garment/
http://www.instructables.com/id/Tron-Legacy-Costume/
http://www.udreplicas.com/ud-product...ynn-tron-suit/
http://www.colebrothers.com/articles...tive_tape.html
http://www.glo-net.com/glowreflect.html
http://www.instructables.com/id/LED-lit-Tron-v20-suit/

Links from others:
By courtesy of Limeyaku - http://www.therpf.com/f24/tron-legac...lanning-88230/
Courtesy of Zarai13 - http://www.jab-tech.com/EL-Wire-and-EL-Tape-c-62.html
Effortlessly recommended by Yui - http://glowhut.com
Selflessly provided by Jia Jem - http://www.fabricondemand.com/index.html
(This link is important for getting the suit accurate right down to the hexagons!)

These are all the tutorials/picture references I have compiled thus far. I also found a good site that sells scuba bodysuits but I'll have that link later. First I have find out if it's good material to use in the first place! EDIT - using stretchy materials for the bodysuit doesn't work too well! EL wire and most tapes can't stretch with the suit, causing damage to the bodysuit.

Feel free to post links in this thread if you know any good webpages too. Most of my research was intended to make a suit based on TRON: Legacy, but post here if you have any educational resources for making classic TRON suits. I want this thread to be as complete as possible.

At first I thought disney was being anti-cosplay when I couldn't immediately find all this info, but it simply turns out the interest in tron cosplay hasn't spiked online as much as I figured it would.

My boyfriend decided he wants me to make him one of the costumes from the movie, so I started doing some research on materials and found a website that sells EL wire and EL tape:

For completion's sake, I will also submit my link suggestion to the resource thread here.

http://glowhut.com
This is a cute little site, w/ good prices and great service. Have returned to here many times for various EL needs.

...Also, I take it you wanted to change your thread title to your current top post header? They match now. ^_-

Custom design printed spandex. Some of the fabrics for Legacy was printed with tiny hexagons. I recommended this site in the Mass Effect thread, too. (For Miranda's white outfit.)

I'm already working on this (Casual Clu/Tron/Kevin) outfits and Quorra and Sam's outfits .

I'm custom printing the undersuit for the costume but its a hefty price to do this on your own.

So, in the near future I'll probably reach out to those on this forum if you are interested in putting in for an order of the custom printng job, but I'm waiting on the textile plant to send me a swatch of the design that I've created already.

Will let you know.

If I were to use a body suit, what could I use that was moldable enough to go over it as the "armor" pieces. Also, what is a recommended way to attach those to a body suit?

Hey Nelly-chan, I have been looking at using a Lycra divers suit with a shiny skin to simulate the body suit. Leather is just too hard to fashion at home, for me at least. The lycra suit can be purchased from body glove and other such companies, come in a variety of colors and are not very expensive. My only question is what to use for those dark black armor pieces, maybe I can use something like a thicker rubber or something but how to attach. so many questions...... I just want to be a program!!!!! end of line........

That's currently being discussed in the actual TRON legacy discussion thread even as we speak. A lot of the cosplayers are ordering leather tops and bottoms then working from there.

Anyone saw good bobbed wigs for Quorra?

Can't seem to find one that doesn't require cutting...

Oh, and any good wedge boots for her too? Thanks

So I'm looking to do a costume I haven't seen out there.

Kevin Flynn for the final third of the film has a unique costume that I love. He has an asian styled robe and undergarmet set with the robe glowing from the inside. It wouldn't be that hard to do, its mostly just creating the fabric garmets (which for men is much easier than female form fitting costumes). The only thing I'm really trying to figure out is what fabric its made out of. I'm working on torrenting the film so I can pull screen shots (I do own the movie BTW). I'll get those up as soon as its done to show what I'm talking about.
