Archer

I'm surprised there's no thread for this awesome show!

For those not in the know, Archer is an animated comdey show on FX that's about to start it's second season. It's about the spy named Archer (codenamed Duchess) and his co-workers at the spy agnecy ISIS. Their contasnt back-stabbing, insults, international intrigue and other hi-jinxes make up the show premise. Go to hulu.com while you can to watch the first episode and two others.

I'm planning on dressing as Lana Kane, the top female agent at ISIS and Archer's ex-girlfriend.

I need to find a pattern and a wig. But, I hope to get it done by spring at least.

Anyone else planning any Archer costumes?

I have Lana Kane on my cosplay list too. though I don't think I'll get to it in the next year. maybe just a quick & cheap version for Halloween. the problem I see with the Lana costume is that it could very easily just look like Generic Trampy Girl With Gun instead of specifically Lana Kane, particularly because I'm white so the viewer has to recognize the costume without the racial clue. Something that simple means the details need to be really on. And it's hard to decide whether to make it obviously cartoony as a clue, or go very realistic like old Pam Grier movies. Maybe you've figured some of that stuff out.

I love the show, the characters are so deplorable and funny. I agree that an Archer group would be great.

I love that show. Everytime I watch it I think of cosplaying her as well.

Such an awesome show! I'm also planning on a quick-and-dirty Lana costume for Halloween. It works if you're with folks who know what you're from. (That seems to be the problem with a lot of costumes from Archer...I'd love to cosplay Cheryl because she's so wonderfully bent, but I'd just look like Generic Career Lady #109). At least Lana's thigh-highs/sweater-dress combination would be readily recognizable to fans of the show. (And hey, if they don't recognize you...at least they'll think you look cool!)

that is a fantastic description, of both the character and the costume issue.

If pie is delicious, I will compliment the person serving it to me.
If they made the pie, I will absolutely compliment them on having made it, too.

Haha, thanks She's pretty much my favorite character, but unless I was running around with a Lana and co I think everybody would just assume I was at the wrong convention! Even if you *could* get an Archer group together, you might just end up looking like a lost office party :P
