Len Kagamine - bass clef

So my dad and I were looking over on Kagamine Len's shirt.

He has a bass clef design on the top of his shirt. And I'm not very sure how to do it. I wouldn't want to paint it on, and my dad think that's a bad idea. What else could I do to put a bass clef design on his shirt?

Embroidery looks the nicest but fabric paint (especially puff) or applique works just as well.

They sell rubber applique in Japan called "san-rubber" which I've seen quite a few people use on their costumes and it looks like a nice, simple solution.
