So I'm going to be going to the fabric store today, and I want to get some material to make Rin's Adolescence dress. But I have a couple of questions.

1) Does the black ruffle at the top stick up, or hang down?

2) How should I do the ruffles, and make the black one stick up of that's the case?

3) What kind of shoes should I wear? White pumps? Black? Sandals? No shoes at all?

Well I can't help with construction but to answer some of our questions, to me the black ruffles look to hang down. As for shoes, someone pointed out in the main thread that closed shoes would be best for her. You'd be safe with either color although black might be a better option since it's less prevalent on the rest of the outfit. Or you could go shoe-less but you'd probably still need something easy to take off/put on, since most cons don't allow people to go barefoot.

Hang down you say? I always used to think that it stuck up, but then when I started looking closer, I wasn't very sure anymore...

Well to me it makes more sense for them to go down because of two things, one the other ruffles hang down so the drape looks better with them matching. And two if the ruffles stuck up it wouldn't be a smooth/straight line on the top it would be wavy since that's what ruffles do.

If you like them sticking up you can leave them that way, I'm not wearing the dress you are. My interpretation sees them going down though and I'd prefer it that way if I were making it.

OK I think i will make it hang down. It seems easier to do it that way anyway.

I'm pretty sure the black ruffle hangs down and I think you should go with black pumps ^-^its really your choice~
