what was the best chocolate you ever had, and where was it from?
just as the title says, people think hershys is the best chocolate. but there are other small chocolates we get from random places. sometimes we get a suprise and find good tasting chocolate from places that we did not suspect would taste good.
i just had this hollow chocolate cat and the milk chocolate was smooth and just right.

Ghirardelli dark and sea salted caramel. So. Delicious. I accidentally ate...you know what? No. I didn't accidentally eat them all. I shoved as many as I could into my face hole before anyone else could have any. Yes it is unhealthy. No I didn't give a fuck.
![]() It was worth it.

Before things with dairy products started making me sick, those chocolate oranges from Trader Joe's. I don't know why, but they're so delicious to me.
From time to time, I'll get one and take little nibbles- just enough so I get my fix, but don't get sick.

This place:
La Maison du Chocolat Good heavens they had this dark chocolate...its wonderfulness cannot be described in words. But Godiva and Ghiradelli are also great.

Hersheys tastes like vomit.
As far as everyday chocolate goes; Cadbury's is best chocolate. Although the best chocolate bar, in my opinion, is Galaxy (known as Dove elsewhere for some reason) manufactured by Mars, narrowly beating Cadbury's Wispa. For expensive chocolate; Thornton's, every single time.

I think I could eat an awful lot of the Lindor hazelnut truffles by myself, and I like some Godiva every now and then. I do realize these are not amazing craft chocolates or anything like that, but I like them, so I don't particularly care. I do want to try an assortment of the Christopher Elbow chocolates. I like weirdo flavors.

For just nibbling, Seattle Chocolates truffle bars are pretty darn good. I like a little saltiness, so my favorites are the Coconut Macaroon and the San Juan Sea Salt (and Pike Place Espresso, and Rainier Cherry, and Cappuccino Crunch...). Fran's Salted Caramels are also lovely, but way too expensive. Dilettante Mocha Cafe is probably one of my favorite places to stop at when I'm downtown, though. Not only is their hot chocolate wonderful, but they have great desserts and they always have something half-price (so you can get a huge slice of Mocha-Ganache-whatever for $2.50). For nibbles I think my favorite is their chocolate covered espresso beans, or their chocolate covered cherries.
Godiva's is all right. I'll occasionally indulge in a cup of their hot chocolate, but you have to go to one of their stores so they'll actually drop a square or two of chocolate in to melt. See's is fairly good (sometimes a bit too sweet), and a lot more affordable than Godiva. On the cheap end Dove is okay and I don't mind Hershey's dark, but I'm glad that a lot of the grocery stores around here carry local products. I do refuse to eat Palmer's, though. I told my husband we weren't allowed to buy any as Halloween candy, because that stuff is disgusting.

YES.
I like Green and Black bars. Mom brings home something in a white and black package with cranberries or sea salt... I don't know what the hell it's called though. Also, we love Flake. Nobody else here does, and there's only one place they sell it in a magical, faraway place called Bridgewater Mall. |

Hyperbole. Vomit is much nastier.
Then again, Hershey's is like the Budweiser of American chocolate.:/ I see no point in arguing about it with an Englishman.

Whether vomit is nastier tasting is subjective. I merely feel that there is some resemblance between the two flavours and nothing more. =P

I always thought Hershey's had more of a dirt taste than anything else, and was therefore more of a base than an acid.
Anyway, Sam, you didn't say which chocolate you actually liked.

Vomit is usually more acidic.

Again, whether that's worse is still an opinion. I merely stated it tasted like it, not exactly the same.
