Plastic Moulds - PokeNav

I want to make a plastic PokeNav prop, but I'm not sure how to start. There are many plastic mould tutorials on Youtube, but the're all different, and I'm not sure what I'm looking for in these videos.

First of all, how would I go about even making the mould? Secondly, what kind of plastic mix...stuff should I go about using? (It's not a very big prop; it fits in your hand like a cell phone)

EDIT: 80th post! yay

do you have the prop with you? theres a place called http://smooth-on.com/ if its the size of a cell phone i would use mould max 30 http://www.smooth-on.com/Silicone-Ru...tml?catdepth=1 get the Trial size it cost round $30. with that i would make a open box mould, what i mean about that is get some foamboard or some legos build a box, use hot glue for the foamboard or clay for the lego box so it will not leak out. follow the directions and let it cure for about 16 hours. then demould it and you can use this resins
smooth cast 300
http://www.smooth-on.com/Urethane-Pl...209/index.html
or
smooth cast 320
http://www.smooth-on.com/Urethane-Pl...210/index.html
just get the trial size

if you need aymore help send me a PM

Is that smooth-on site the only place to get the smooth cast and mould max? Could I get it at, say, Michael's or somewhere?

I haven't seen any Smooth-On products at my Michael's, but you can get the Smooth Cast 300 a smidgen cheaper from Dick Blick's http://www.dickblick.com/products/sm...ooth-cast-300/ If you keep an eye out they have coupons and free shipping from time to time.

Hm... Would anyone happen to know which stores I could find plastic resin and moulding materials? I'd rather not buy this stuff online, as I have no experience with it.

http://www.resinobsession.com/

I've only ever bought molds and dyes from them, but they're great.

If you're looking for something a bit ghetto but really simple, there is always hot glue casting:
