Would anyone recognize this cosplay?
For an upcoming con, i was wondering on which new hetalia character i should cosplay as, so while i was going through all my past cosplay outfits i noticed that i could easily make this version of Russia. However i was wondering if a lot of people would recognize it as Russia, i will be having a Russia flag with me but there will be times when i wont feel like carrying it around and i was wondering if anyone would notice it as Russia without the obvious Russian flag
-! i attached a picture of the version of Russia i will be cosplaying as!- and no that is not me but its the only reference to the outfit that i could find ![]() Last edited by NeonSkylight : 01-09-2011 at 07:36 PM. |

I am entirely and completely unfamiliar with Hetalia, but believe it or nay, I WOULD recognize that as a character from the series. Someone who really knew the series top-to-bottom would probably get it no-problem.

I would, yeah. I'd be like "hmm, bloody sunday Russia." And possibly challenge you to bearwrestlewifethrow, depending on what character I was wearing.

I only know how to make real blood that stains the innocent.*
Uh, well, you could just put it on the end of the scarf or something. But that version of Russia is "bloody sunday" Russia, so if you didn't want to put blood all over it, and somebody asks you why, you could say you're Saturday Russia. *I'm not being serious so nobody write letters.

I just know that because that's how people have explained that cosplay variant to me before, so I wouldn't sweat it. But yeah, people will recognize it. I'd do a search on "bloody sunday russia hetalia" to see if people actually do use blood, because I want to say that the person I know who does it has a clean costume. It's sunday that's bloody, not necessarily Russia that's bloody....I think. Maybe somebody more knowledgeable than I am could clarify.

I've seen it done by several people online, so I know it. I'm pretty sure having props/accessories like scarf, sunflowers, vodka, etc... gives it away.

Of course, the wig and scarf gives it away!
And if you have a Russian flag with you, it'd be very hard for anyone who knows Hetalia to not recognise you as Russia.

I saw one of these at ALA. I knew it was Russia from the scarf and the pipe they were carrying around.
And the fact they had a vodka bottle (lol)

Yep, definitely would. The great thing about Hetalia is that most characters have pretty easily identifiable hair etc. For instance, you could put Russia or Italy in pretty much any outfit, and still be recognised by the scarf or hair curl.

Mainly the scarf is what gives it away as Russia...a yellow sunflower might make it more noticable though.
