I realised I hadn't made any curd for ages, so while I was grocery shopping I bought some blueberries and some apricots to see how well they work as curd this weekend.

Found an interesting looking recipe for "Lembas Bread" on Tumblr. Doesn't look much more or less filling than normal bread, but it does seem interesting none the less. Gonna bake some up this weekend, and if it turns out well, I'm providing the snacks for the hobbit premier! And yes, cosplayers will get a free piece, not just my friends. :P

Just had a super late night Denny's dinner. Tried out the chicken fresca thing (I think that's what it was called), and it was great!

Bought dark-chocolate peppermint lindt candies yesterday... I can't wait to try them (I'm bringing a couple to work to try and then I need to hide the bag from Dad, since he doesn't understand "hands off my expensive sweets").

Thanksgiving dinner was an overall success. I can vouch for a bunch of recipes in the Game of Thrones cookbook and I also roasted my first whole bird and did my first yeasted bread. I'm proud of myself. And also really full. And also expecting that the lemon cakes will all be gone by the end of the day.

Had Culver's for dinner, and now sipping on some Strawberry Wild thing from Jamba Juice right now. It's like the 3rd time in my life I have been there XD

The blueberry turned out a really great color!

So I'm eating leftover turkey and rice for lunch, and we ran out of leftover gravy, so I've put some of the sauce they give you to go with roast duck on everything. It's pretty good.

And so now I kind of want to experiment around with preparing turkey with Chinese spices/sauces. Star anise and five spice and hoisin sauce and garlic and ginger and and all of the delicious things. Poultry is poultry, right?

Almost the same colour as blackberry curd, oddly enough.

My fiance keeps putting vinegar in what he's cooking (mostly meat dishes) and the food ends up being way too sour tasting. D: Ick. I keep having to stir in tiny amounts of baking soda to make it edible again.
