It was 'so so'. I ruined my first egg. The second was cooked too long. I only ate a few bites and spent most of the day hungires. Oh well. Now I have popcorn.

I had an Egg McMuffin for the first time today from McDonald's. I always get the sausage one, but wanted to try the regular one with the ham. Honestly, it wasn't as good as the sausage one so I probably won't get it again since they're the same price

My latest discovery is rapini, a.k.a. broccoli rabé or broccoletti. It's a popular green thing in Italian cooking. I like to stir fry it very lightly with olive oil and garlic. It tastes a bit like broccoli and a bit mustardy/radishy, and is very slightly bitter (but that mostly goes away with garlic and cooking). Nom.

Oooooooh. I need a barbecue sauce recipe. I moved to the US and all the bottled barbecue sauce has HFCS as the first ingredient. I think I'll try making my own because I've totally been craving barbecue.

Oooh.
Had fried rice (mixed in with leftover pork and chicken, beansprouts and some other veggies) for dinner... dad added honey garlic sauce, however, and that made it a lot less awesome.

Boyfriend brought home leftover doughnuts from work. And he made a package of bacon to add to his breakfasts that he takes to work. And so I made myself a maple bacon doughnut~

Also, I made another cake. That's the third one in 7 days. The cake itself is made from a yellow cake recipe with added orange extract, zest, and juice. The frosting is actually a dark chocolate ganache. I have probably posted about the other two, so this is old news.

My apartment smells deliciously orangy and chocolaty~

...Again~

My sister and I recently made some homemade guacamole, which was surprisingly delicious! We had that with tortilla chips and some rice on the side, which sounds like an odd combination, but it was yummy ~

I recently made chocolate truffles. They are the easiest things ever and delicious. I'll even share the recipe with you all! You need:
1 lb (16 oz) bitter sweet or semi sweet chocolate. (higher quality will melt more smoothly)
7 oz heavy cream
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
2 oz butter.
Toppings (chopped nuts, crushed Oreos, cocoa powder, toasted coconut..whatever you find tasty)
Equipment: A stove, saucepan, a mixing bowl, a spatula, a scoop, wax paper sheets

1. Simmer the milk and vanilla together. It should just have small bubbles and make sure it doesn't get skin on top.
2. Pour this over the bowl of chopped chocolate. Stir it together with a spatula until it's smooth and melted thoughly.
3. Once it's blended add the butter and stir it all in until everything is finally blended together.
4. Let this mix sit and cool until it's semi-solid. (this can take a while)
5. Use a small ice cream type scoop and scoop out little balls and place them on wax paper. Let them set for a while.
6. Put on disposible gloves and roll the scoops into little balls and roll them in whatever toppings you find tasty! (chop up the toppings really fine)

So, I made burgers for dinner. And I swear when I shaped them, they were round before going into the pan. Yet somehow, during the cooking process 2 of the patties became heart shaped. o_O

I just left some buns to proof in my new muffin tin for the first time (Its holes are smaller than my usual one, but larger than the mini-muffin one, so I've made twice the usual number of buns); Three each of clementine, strawberry, blackcurrant and chocolate.
