Stick it under the broiler in the oven for a few minutes. (WATCH the broiler, do not walk away.)

Remove from oven, add shredded lettuce and guacamole. Nom.
That sounds so delicious. I'll have to make this one day.

I just do mild salsa, shredded cheese and sour cream, occasionally cottage cheese. They're perfect when they're so soaked in all that dairy yumminess that they can't even be picked up without a mess.

I usually just put shredded cheese and put it in the oven to melt the cheese and anything else we have that we feel like throwing on top. Like refied beans or diced up peperoncini (I did this when we ran out of jalapeŮos.)

i made sweet rolls with my niece a few weeks ago. they're pretty easy and very good! though i'd recommend milk with them. also they are very much full of sugar, but they taste like cinnamon rolls! (the recipe i used did at least) so i had a problem eating just one >.<

My lardy cake seems to have worked. They taste sort of like hot cross buns, but...lardier.

All in all, I'd say not bad for my first time making a croque-madame. All we had though was a bunch of shredded cheese so that's what I used.

I know the croque monsieur, but what's in the madame? ....though I see a fried egg. I'd probably love it because eggs are awesome. And cheese.

Croque madame is basically the croque monsieur but with a fried egg on top. That's the only difference.

Last night I made broccoli-cheddar soup from this recipe. I didn't have half and half so I used half heavy cream, half milk; it actually didn't thicken too well so I added a little cornstarch at some point. I also have most of my spices at the new house and had to leave out the nutmeg (definitely should have kept some nutmeg), and used pre-shredded carrots in lieu of the diced carrot.

It was scrumptious, and I even had a round loaf on hand to do the bread bowl. A bit more complicated than the recipe made it seem, mostly because I wound up cooking it so long, but it wasn't too bad for a weeknight.

All the nacho talk is making me want to get this book.

Last night after a con, me and some friends went to a Hyatt hotel across the street to eat dinner. Ended up doing their dinner buffet which was $16 and consisted of pizza, nachos, wings, salad and dessert. Food was ok, but not sure it was worth the $16. Although if I was to order just regular food it would be about $12 with no drink, and the wait would have been awful!

I will say that they did have some pretty damn good desserts though! Also I do like wings lol

Went to the Cherry Blossom Festival on Saturday.

Ate freshly made takoyaki, sakura and matcha cookies, a sukiyaki hot dog, and a cute berry pie.

Apparently the events I go to are distinguished by what I ate there.

Made my first bento-box today.

It took like two hours to make this monstrosity. I see the cute ones on the internet, and I'm like, WHY? I've also learned that despite the fact that rice balls look easy to make...they are not.
