I like to call myself a "part-time vegetarian" as I only eat meat on rare occasions, mostly. I've considered becoming a full vegetarian for various reasons before, but, I can't quite quit things like gravy and grilled fish. >_>

I've had a lot of people think I'm crazy because I don't like any of the following; Tomatoes, Cheesecake, Avocado, Whip Cream, Guacamole, & Bananas.

I hate three of those things, so you're not that crazy (guacamole, avocado and cheesecake). Not a BIG fan of bananas, mainly a texture thing. I eat them but I'm always gagging after 2/3rds if I didn't slice it up first. And I don't like raw tomatoes. Cooked/processed? Hell yes. Raw? Ick, no, only on a toasted tomato sandwich. I love whipped cream, though. But it doesn't beat ice cream.

One thing that has been on my mind is jello cake. Oh, it is so delicious...

Bake yellow or white cake and poke many holes in it with something that has the width of a pencil. Start making whatever flavor jello you like and pour liquid into the holes (two packages are better than one). Refrigerate for some hours, and then spread whipped cream on top like frosting. Oishii...

I just finished the sponge for my mum's birthday cake. I can't quite taste the white chocolate in it, but it does taste a little sweeter and creamier than plain sponge. :3

Picked up a lasagna and premade garlic bread for dinner. Only issue, is my fear of ovens. I was fine when I roasted chicken a while ago, but lasagna is much different. Also, hoping it cooks like it's supposed to. I'm still getting used to how hot/fast this one actually is.

The other day I was bored and really craving pumpkin ravioli. Too bad I had no pumpkin puree. So I made chocolate ravioli, instead. Just added cocoa to the dough for the shells. For the filling, I mixed raspberries and cream cheese and flour to thicken, and a second bowl of bacon with cream cheese and flour to thicken (both had an egg). I made a bourbon chocolate ganache as sauce for both, and a very deliciously strong raspberry wine reduction sauce for the raspberry ravioli.

The only complaint is that the filling cooked too firm (too much flour). I'm going to fix this by using some ricotta cheese next time, or refrigerating the filling to firm it up instead of using so much flour.

Korean spinach soup for dinner; just a ton of chopped spinach and some chopped/ground beef, with soy sauce and sesame oil to make the broth. Four ingredients and it's got-damned amazing. I should have been making this for years.

So, a friend of mine keeps trying to convince me to try Korean food, but I have a problem from all I've seen or looked up- I can't find anything a restaurant would serve that isn't either spicy as hell, or beef, or really strongly fermented (even mild spice burns my mouth, beef gives me indigestion and I can't stand really strong fermented tastes). Anyone know of some dishes I could actually EAT if I went to a restaurant?

So, yesterday I was watching the Great British Bake-Off and one of the things they made was an amazing looking hazelnut dacquoise. So I looked up the recipe and how much hazelnuts cost at the local supermarket, and it turns out that they're £2 for just 100g!

Then I tried Amazon and found I could get a kilo for a tenner. ¬_¬

Just came back from the "unlimited cheese and chocolate" night at my favorite fondue restaurant, The Melting Pot.... so much cheese and chocolate fondue, enough to satiate me for the year (and probably a week's worth of calories in one sitting. GLORIOUS!!!!)
