Pie vs. Cake, eh?

This seems like a good time to bring up something that happened while I was at university.

Bisected, my colleagues and I on the selection committee need to know exactly what's in the middle of those things before we can award you the Nobel Prize in College Food.

How can there be a student food related category in the NP? I thought Noble created the NP to encourage people not to make weapons? =P

I used a batter based on a five minute cake recipe (which I'd already been tweaking to get something edible).

...and by a miracle, the bookmark I have of the original recipe still works. I found that it works better with less sugar.

FINALLY got some pumpkin-chocolate-chip loaf from the market square's bakery. Mmmm. Two bucks for a chunk that'll last me two days of munching on ('til Thursday, when they're back again...). And it's sooooo good.

What! No bacon?! (Er - but you're a vegetarian, right?) I don't put cheese on my fried egg sandwiches because egg+bacon+mayo+cheese = enough cholesterol to make the world blow-up. But I do love scrambled eggs with cheese.

I do loves me some bacon, egg, and cheese sandwiches, but I never put mayo on them. That does seem... volatile.

Er, what law says you have to eat meat on your pizza? In its most basic state, pizza is meatless. Or are you going full vegan?

I bought mushrooms today, so dinner tonight is the delayed vegetarian lasagna. I need to buy a new pan though. My old square one got smashed awhile ago and now the only things I have that are deep enough are oval and don't work terribly well with rectangular noodles. :/

Today I popped over to Whole Foods and bought a sandwich, some berries, and a small salad. I never got around to the salad. I also bought some sort of cheese called Robusto, caramelized pecans, and little cracker things with rosemary, raisins, and more pecans.

One of my coworkers brought homemade pea soup for dinner, so with the soup, cheese, crackers, and nuts, we had quite a little feast.

EDIT: Just gonna leave this here.

I do love Whole Foods, though my wallet always hates me afterwards.

I'm not anymore, but I still don't eat beef or pork. It's too harsh on my tummy, and I don't really like it anyway. Though sometimes I do still sneak a piece of bacon. XD

These look awesome. Too bad authentic prep requires buying yet another tool for my already-crowded kitchen. A tool that costs $50, no less. Sorry, eggettes, but you will have to wait.

Sometimes I think about traveling the world, mostly so I can try all the amazing food.

My mother's vegetarian, apparently she though if she let me and my brother choose we'd decide to be vegetarians of our own volition.

It didn't take. She has no one to blame but herself and those delicious Sunday roasts though.
