So if you're going to ama, don't forget you said you'd keep an eye out for me.

Do more than your best. Napoleon did his best and it earned him house arrest and stomach cancer. Easiest way to locate a singer is the karaoke competition. Food for thought.

Yes, but I don't know when and where that is, and I'm not sure my scedule for the con, when I'll be places and if there will be panels or photoshoots I'll want to attend, so on. While I love meeting new people its one of the many things I have to consider when going from place to place. Right now when I don't even know what costumes I'm going to be wearing I don't want to make any strong commitments on what places I will be when.

Truth be told, I was only exaggerating. I thought it'd be funny if I compared something as inconsequential as this to Napoleon's failed conquest and the extremities of his poor fortunes. However, I should've known there was a possibility I'd be taken seriously, so I apologize for sounding unusually persistent.

To be honest I don't really expect anyone to remember things like this 6 months or more in advance, especially since I myself am terribly forgetful when I get caught up in my con dealings. I'm also in the air about my cosplays, which is why I didn't say "look for this guy." I'm a culprit of changing cosplay plans last minute, so I know where you're coming from.

For the record, for anyone who reads this thread, as of last year I sign up for any and all karaoke so Friday nights at cons I better see all the bro-skees! Don't doubt my skills, check it before you wreck it.

I live near the Richmond area. And I'm going to AMA (and either AUSA or Nekocon) this year with some of my friends.

Good to see AMA goers posting! It's a con that's like a second home for me.

It gets a lot of hate from haters. Take it from me - when you're like me and you've been to a dozen big conventions such as Otakon, you appreciate smaller cons a whole lot more. Fewer panels means you have more time to do bigger events and/or fool around and do nothing, which big cons more or less don't give you spare time for tom-foolery.

I can understand that, at Hawaii where I go to school there is only one small con per year so me, being used to Otakon and so on, was at first quite let down but then realized that the size also made it a lot less intimidating and so me and my friends participated in events we wouldn't have like cosplay theater and showcase and now will have a booth at artist alley and one is running a yaoi panel. Small cons can be nice, though I still like to go to big cons as well. Thankfully Otakon is during my summer break! Going to any cons during school means flying from Hawaii which is too expensive to be worth it. Even the con here lots of people in Hawaii can't attend because they are on another island and the plane trip is kind of pricey for a middle/high school otaku. Luckily my university is on the same island.

AMA is a two building con with roughly a minute or less of walking between the two, although it could be longer if you're Russia and Belaruse is tackling you. The second building is interesting since the artist tables are in the main hallways lapping around the rooms, which in my opinion is a neat way to get your art noticed as opposed to cooping all the artists up in a separate room.

Liven in the DMV! Cause you know, most of Virginia's population is in Northern Virginia, I thought I would see more people from this area. ;A;

It seems that VA's pretty quiet when it comes to cosplay togetherness. Everyone knows I'm down for teamwork and things, but it never seems to amount to anything at con-time. Partly because my participation in certain events gives me temporary tunnel-vision, partly because of my excessive personality (think: America), and partly because of other factors.

If it makes you feel better, I used to live in Herndon.
