Ok so I wanted to cosplay as the Captain from Hellsing. I have the coat but the collar does not have a strap(or whatever you call it) to keep the collar over the face. How can I make my own strap? I imagine if I take it somewhere to have it done it will cost me a lot, and Ive never tried sewing before, and don't want to mess the coat up. Help please!?

Oh and im sorry if I posted this in the wrong place as im somewhat new here

you can sew the strap separately then hand sew it to the coat, you can always cut the thread and take it off after so don't worry about damaging the coat.
