Most of the stuff I need for Madoka has been purchased as Christmas presents for me, I'm sooo excited to cosplay Madoka!

I think that I asked before on here but I don't believe anyone answered. Help on making Madoka's soul gem, anyone? I have some ideas but I'm not really sure ><;; Any help ori suggestions would be appriciated.

I cast mine in epoxy resin after making a mold out of silicon clay pressed over a baked Fimo form of the gem. The made the gold base out of a Paperclay and left it to dry with the original gem form inside to fit the resin form later on after it was dried and painted.

If you don't want the trouble or expensive, make the whole thing out of clay and paint the gem with highlight and low lights to fake the look of a Crystal.

Alright, thank you!! I was considering clay for the base part but I just wasn't sure about the gem, really ><

@ToroSonyCat: For the gem, you can buy rein stones at a dollar store. Or if you dont want that edgy affect try looking at a Hobby Shop to see if they sell jems like that. If not hobby shop, then probably micheals. For the bottom part of it, i would use air dry clay because its very light and easy to mold with. You can probably buy it at a dollar store or craft store.

Alright, thank you!
I'll look into gems and hopefully find one that will work. I do already have some air dry clay and I was planning to use that

Hi Lovelies~

My best friend and I are going as Sayaka and Madoka (respectfully) for ACEN in April. Most of our work is under control, but as I've never done big props before I have no CLUE where to start in making Madoka's archery bow.

Searching tutorials ends in finding tutorials for Ribbon/Fabric bows @_@

Any advice~? :3 I'd really like to have it for pictures ^_______^

Haven't uploaded my Madoka costume to coscom yet, but here's a link to my acp gallery. Link: http://www.acparadise.com/acp/display.php?c=55531

I made my bow in about 3 hours a couple of nights before the con. It was really easy and cheap and I think it looks pretty good. It's actually a slight variation on a tutorial for Lord of the Rings elven bows. ;D I took two wire coat hangers (one for the bow itself and the other piece, which was cut down a bit and bent into a V for the branches) and wrapped upholstery foam around the wire and then wrapped masking tape over top of that. This actually helps the rose stay on, because you can just hide the stem inside with the wire hanger. You'll need about half a roll of masking tape. Just keep going over it to make it nice and solid. Then I sealed and painted the bow, and tadaa! Rose bow!
