Trish cosplay and height issues

"don't cosplay someone without similar appearance traits to you" is what i live by. always make sure the person has a smiliar bodytype to you, similar skin color, etc. however, cosplaying trish has been a dream of mine since the first devil may cry came out. but being the short shrimp that i am, ( 5'1") i don't think i could pull it off. trish is tall and slender and i'm short and curvey to say the least :P so, anyone know what i shud do?

To be honest, the mantra to "only cosplay someone who matches your physical traits" doesn't really hold up well in many cases. It shouldn't matter what your physically. I've seen short Sephiroths, tall clouds, short dantes and tall Neros. It doesn't matter. If you can pull off a character, or want to cosplay a character, go for it!

As for Trish, if you really want to cosplay her, go for it!
Don't meddle in the affairs of dragons, for they think you are crunchy and good with ketchup.

Current Cosplay Project:

Nero- Devil May Cry 4.
Current Costume status: Wig ordered.
Current Prop status:
Deathbringer: Full scale mock-up 85% complete. Design adjustments in progress.
Red Queen: Design in progress
Blue Rose: Not started yet.

If you can make it look good, I don't think height matters. Half the characters I like are short and I'm 5'9, but if I can make it look smooth, I'm not bothered by it. I can always just sit, bend, or lean in photos. :P

I follow similar cosplay guidelines, which is why I'll never do a Chris Redfield cosplay, even tho he's a wicked beast. You have a lot at your disposal to bridge the gap, trish has big hair and finding genuine looking footwear to match hers also can afford you a few inches. It's well within the realm of possibility to say in costume you could be 5'6-5'7...and if you have a dante to pair with who's under 6' you'll be scaled by association. anyway, I think you'll be just fine. Let me know how it turns out.

I'd say go for it! I don't look much like any characters I cosplay; I'm a little big for all those skinny-minis and I'm ridiculously tall. XD But its all about what you want to do and what will be fun for you and make you happy!
