almost done the boots and shoulder armor too!
Oh my god. Incredible work like this makes me feel like I'll never be able to make Hawke's warrior armor... It's already been done so well, and I don't know the first thing about making my own! Great job.

Just the little details for the staff still need to be added.

WOW! You did such a great job. *__* I love how the armour looks!

It's kind of "luck of the draw", but you can get different coin sizes even if they're not really screen-accurate. That being said, they'd still need to be drilled.

I plan on snagging one of those coin packs I linked above, then drill holes to attach jump rings. You just need a decently powerful drill (I've used just a standard handheld before) and a small enough drill bit. Then you can just use needlenose pliers to attach jump rings, which can be bought at just about any craft store in the jewelry findings section.
Thank you! I think I'm going down the same route. I had a brain fart and forgot about belly dance coins, so I'm going to buy and mod some.

I'm buying some leather today/tomorrow, so I can finally get more work done on Morrigan. Is there a type of leather I should be looking at to make a sleeve and the skirt with? I'm a leather newbie. ;_;

That is super lovely, great job! The Staff of Parlathan looks amazing as well.

Slowly but surely getting my Merrill complete. I'm having a bit of issue with the armor pieces, as they're not real leather (vinyl wooo yay I'm poor) and, with the patterning, aren't really laying flat, but look great when they do. Thankfully I AM going to be covered head to toe in hot black bodysuit (in August...sigh, why do I pick these costumes?), so I figure I can pin it to the bodysuit to make it lay a bit more evenly. Unless anyone else has suggestions? Can you "kill" vinyl and make it flat like you can kill acrylic yarn? Wishful thinking, here

Oh yes, and any other advice if you can - for Merrill's face tattoos, what do you all think would be most long lasting? Since it will be hot as balls, though hopefully I won't be outside much. Would waterproof eyeliner work, or should I get face painting...makeup. Like you get for Halloween?

For reference: http://images4.wikia.nocookie.net/__...l_Portrait.png

You guys are great and thanks :3

If I may ask, what materials are you using for the armor?

I used craft foam and a thicker foam (the kind you put on the floor for children) for the chest piece. I painted the back of the foam with a few layers of a mix of baby powder and glue to harden it.

Ahaha wow, how creative! Thanks for sharing. I'm not planning on making one for a long while if I ever do get around to it, but it's very neat to see what others are coming up with!

So Merrill and Izzy have been put on hold for the moment. My fiance and I will be moving in August, so we have to pack everything up! It's also been tough getting my friend over here to try on Izzy so I can actually start making it....so no updates for a least a month I hope I can get them done before it gets cold outside! I don't want my friend to freeze at the ocean XD

Ahh!! Yes, she would definitely freeze by the ocean later in the year. Hope you can get all that stuff done. I know I won't be done by the end of the year.....which is okay, because I really want to wear our costumes to the Renaissance Faire next year. =D

Okay so off topic but, did anyone notice the Norway shooter's name??? *Facepalm*
