Yoshi's Tail

Hi, I apologise if this has already been answered.

So I'm going out on Saturday and I'm dressing as a human-style Yoshi. It doesn't have to be perfect, it just has to be presentable. Anyway, I've got the t-shirt, trousers, shoes, hat (gonna put eyes and bumps on it), saddle (just wrapping white fabric around the edge) and soon I'm getting something for the tongue. Might make eggs too Anyway, I'm really struggling with the tail. Gonna get fabric that's the same material as the t-shirt, but what I'm really struggling with is getting the shape. What do you think would be the easiest way to shape the tail? Bear in mind I'm on a very low budget, I have to prepare the costume by Friday (yeah, I hit a bit of a snag xD) and it has to be able to fit in a suitcase easily. I'm not sure if stuffing it would work because it probably wouldn't keep the shape.

Thanks for any help you can offer

Stuffing it with something soft perhaps? I don't know how big you planned on making it though, so I don't know if it will fit in your suitcase...
