In any case, here's the flyer, unleash your opinions upon me.
The first thing of note, is that the font to the left of the book graphic is hard to read. What size will this poster be printed at, 8x11? Larger?

The book graphic is a bit pixelated, and having that small bit run into the G at the top is a little distracting.

Other than that, the layout is pretty bangin'! I wouldn't physically move any of the text around, as I think the spots you chose are pretty perfect. And I love the decal on the bottom. Very chic!

I like it. My favorite part is "Features a charming dog"
If you were looking for critique, I would suggest making the title of the book larger and the word FREE even bigger than that. College students like the 'free' word.

I would change the blue font you used for the text on the upper-left --- I'm not sure if it's the computer screen, but I had to squint to read it well and that's a big no-no for visibility.

Thanks for the input, all.

I went ahead and changed the text on the left to black and swapped it with a less-curly font. I also played around with the heading at the top so it wasn't interrupted by the big graphic. I can't do anything about the pixels on the graphic, really, since it's something I grabbed off of Google (SHHHHH!) and I'm working with basic MS Office software, not known for its sophisticated image editing capabilities.

Finn's right, college students love free things, so I made that a little more visible.

There's some dead space in there that's distracting me, but I'm fighting my natural urge to Fill All Available Space.

I'm wondering if I should also offer cookies or something like that for everyone who takes a book.

Having looked at the website, it might give people incentive to stick around and chat about books. It doesn't guarantee a success, but if you like cooking...

People are bound to love cookies.
