I think that the batter is quite similar, but crepes are a lot thinner. You fill crepes with something (cheese or vegetables or jam or chocolate or whatever) then roll it up or fold it. Pancakes you usually just eat with butter and syrup - no rolling or folding involved.

Growing up, we almost never had the thick pancakes unless we went to IHOP or something. My grandmother made crepes, but I didn't know that's what they were because she called them "flannel cakes"-- a very obscure usage. We'd slather them with butter (and sometimes jam), roll them up, pour syrup all over them, and then I'd basically just shove my face onto the plate and start chewing.

I prefer the thin, light pancakes or crepes to regular pancakes any day. Sometimes I enjoy a savory crepe, but most of the time I like them sweet because it reminds me of childhood.

I put coconut flakes in my pancakes. Occasionally I add some mini chocolate chips and make almond joy pancakes. With out the almonds.

What you have described as a crepe I have always seen described as a pancake and made on pancake day (using a receipe described as one for pancakes, instead of just instant pancake batter). Except when I've visited France.

The one above it, I've always known as a Scotch pancake.

The only funnel cakes I've had are a sweet batter that's basically drizzled in a circle directly into hot oil, then served on a plate with powdered sugar. You find them at carnivals and fairs a lot, although in my area it was years before I saw one because of the prevalence of Italian communities and zeppoles-- similar to funnel cakes, but they're balls of dough instead of drizzles.
