I would have preferred that...

So I bring my friend there to have an interview because she was in a bind. I go in after wandering the mall a bit and wait for another friend to meet me there. As we sampled some teas, a sales girl comes over and asks us if we wanted to have a tour of the store. And I said sure, figuring I could learn some new things about tea and their wares. So we start talking about the tea pots and their sets and she asks "Were you thinking of buying a teapot today?" and I replied "No thank you I can't afford it at this time, I'm probably going to look in to tea." So she asked "Well would you like to make a tea set anyways?" And I figured "Well i think she is still trying but i'll just do it for fun." And I picked out the set and she told me what it'd all come with and what the sets are made of and such and I just nodded and smiled. Then after that whole thing she showed us some more teas and tea accessories and I decided I really liked this blueberry bliss and pinapple kona tea. I went up to the register to purchase it and she tells me it's done by the ounce and I think "fair enough" and before I can tell her the amount of tea I want, she grabs a canister that they sell them in (which is 7 dollars itself) and starts to shovel in the tea filling it to the top, these canisters are for one pound of tea (they have half pound ones but she grabbed the friggen pound one) and before I could even stop her she said it was 70 dollars. And I was just so shocked the tea came to that much and that she didnt even ask me how much I wanted or how much money's worth of tea (they have goddamn scales for a reason) before asking for it. I remember telling her to take some out but it was still expensive. Now I felt backed in to a corner and I felt awful and I really should have said "That's more than I feel comfortable paying for" but instead I just sheepishly handed my card over and as she ran it she said "It's been declined." I thanked my lucky stars that I had less than the amount needed in my bank and said "Oh I'm so sorry I thought I had enough... lemme go check my bank account at the atm in the food court." I never went back.

Loli- I didn't make you do nuthin...

Luna- I was severely disappointed with my service... I can't wait until Heather works there...we can get discounts then.

I could, but that'll take sneak skills to hurry up and make some more, go paper mache something else without him slythering himself to where I am like a snake ~_~. He lives with me so every time I'm working on something, he sits there on my shoulder like a hawk and watches me.

Also considering I'm glad I got this far without him noticing and it's been raining a monsoon here so the drying would take forever to make a decoy.

I understand that a lot of people in that sort of business get paid by commissions but that was a LOT of pressure for something you already said no to.

That's like me telling a buyer "Oh you want this $15 wood burn? BUT HERE I HAVE THIS $70 ONE! I shipped it out for you, pay plz"

Wow...it's best to assume that the sales assistant just didn't know what she was doing, but the cynic in me says she's being paid a seller's fee or something...

To be fair it's a new Teavana at the mall (as Luna pointed out) and I understand it's make a sale to make money... but still like... If you pay by the ounce of course you ask the person how much they want, I thought it was common sense! That's how candy stores work!

I think it was presumptuous for the sales lady to say "we charge by the ounce, HERE'S A POUND" and not give you time to decide how much you'd like.

Again that's like me saying "Oh I charge per character, here's 12 characters worth". It's like, holy balls dude.

I hope all the employees arent like that. (Heather excluded. I know she'd be awesome.)

I love teavana but I never get more than a few ounces of tea at a time. It's too expensive.

We've got similar fancy-schmancy tea shops here, and hell, a few ounces of tea goes a LONG way for me (and I'm not a tea person, really, so I don't go through it quick). But, ya. One or one and a half spoons of the stuff in a decanter and that's all I need. Which gives me like, 30 cups for a $7 bag of tea. I've got a bunch of these mini sample tins I got for Xmas that are about an inch and a half tall and an inch and a half wide, and NONE of them are empty. Even the ones I actually liked.
